Real Tanoa? Maybe

Hi folks,

 

i was a bit bored today and started a little search for the real tanoa. So here is what i found:

 

 

 

At first the map everyone knows:

 

 

 

 

 

So first find after turning the google map: 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Looks similar? Ok its not the exact shape, but i think you miss something... the vulcano! Here it comes

Sorry for googles bad images, but they should be good enough to see what i want to show you guys. What do you think about it? Could this be this island, is this the real "tanoa" ?  :blink:

Your dropbox links are not working.Maybe you could just post google earth grid coordinates? We all play arma,so we should be able to use grid references ;)

Isn't Tanoa a fictional version of Fiji?It's the same shape-

Good pics. BI did say the Island was based off the Fiji region i believe. I think it is not as straightforward as Altis which is identical to the real Lemnos-I think Tanoa is a composite of several different places. Where are the areas in your pics located?

Tanoa is based on a small island off the east coast of Fiji called Lovoni. You can see it in ineptaphid's pic.

@ineptaphid Its in indonesia, part of the big island group muluku, part of the smaler group bacan, wich is named like the island itself.

It could be the real island you have on your pic, but it is mirrored ingame.

I think it was deffinetly based off the Levoni island but ofc. They did added few islands around witch are random or maybe islands around  Fiji

Eh, it's not up for debate. Lovoni is the island BIS based Tanoa on.

Out of curiosity. Is there a full map of the entire horizon islands? A good reference my promote some of the community to finish the rest of the map :P.
