Controlling the score

Recommended Posts

I just can't believe this wasn't answered when I searched for "scoring" and a seperate search on "score".

Is there something I can put in the init or description files that will define how many points get allocated for kills?

I have a great "zone control" type mission that gives points for dominating a zone, but I want little/no points added for kills so that it forces players to use the zone to get points.

I guess I must be the only one who needs this info. Oh well. I guess I'll do the cheezy thing and just jack up the max score and give more points for being in the zone, thus, making the points gained from kills more insignificant.

!(Thanks for all the help)

Yes, I was wondering something simular to that.  I have not been able to get scoring to work at all.  I made a multiplayer game that my son and I enjoy going through.  Sometimes we win, others we don't.

I have figured out many things, either on my own, biggrin.gif or from this forum.  smile.gif

One thing I have not figured out, or found here, is how to make the scoring work. confused.gif

Any help would be welcomed.

The scoring, as in the keeping of, is fairly simple:

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">

this addRating 1000

<span id='postcolor'>

But some things will add to the rating automatically, like when you kill an enemy you get points added - which leads to my original question as to how to set "defaults" for stuff like this, but either no one knew, or no one cared...it would seem it is not possible.

Yeah, sorry about that. It just gets a little frustrating sometimes when I spend so much time helping everyone I can, but can't seem to get any help for ME sometimes. I guess it just means I usually try non-conventional stuff that I prob shouldn't be messing with.
