Major UAV Falcon BUG

Recommended Posts

The UAV Falcon is broken big time. If you set a way point, then type and altitude then go back and change the way point type let say from Loiter to sentry to move or from anything to anything the Falcon just goes into circles and goes haywire....I tried this in the Editor to see if it was Wasteland or what and it was in the Editor also so its something hard coded in the game. I think the Falcon doesn't like the Types and the Altitude or something but as of now its useless to use...

Also the Auto Pilot is broken because if you turn ON Auto Pilot then switch to the Turret Auto Pilot turn Off...This should NOT be like this..

To be honest the Falcon is dead in the water as it is and I cannot believe this was over looked in the condition this is in...

Let me also say this the major bug is when Autonomous is active/checked. If you disable this then you can fly it all day but once its check that thing goes all haywire like its drunk...

Sounds like the exact same problem that has been happening with Darter ever since Arma 3 was released. Whenever you give it an autonomous task there's 50% chance that it will go mentaly ill with no recovery (goes in circles and ignores waypoints, shakes like crazy when hovering, etc). At that point the only solution is to use another Darter if you want to give it autonomous tasks. I hope they fix this before dumping Arma 3 development

Exactly....Also I was to add I was controlling it manually the other day. I flying around Alts, I was about 2,000 meters high. Every time I would set it to Autopilot it would turn and come back towards me and I could not get a shot off from the turret.

Does the Darter also do this.

They gave the exact same code for the Darter to the UAV Falcon which is buggy and they messed it up.

Does Bohemia look at this forum or is there place to report bugs besides here? A bug report? Thanks in advance...

Last the HE rockets are USELESS for the UAV operator/pilot to even use. Might as well get rid of these and obsolete them Bohemia because the operator can't even use them because he/she can't even aim to use them!!!

On th other hand, some missions on public servers, like Tanoa Escape, have very efficient UAV patrol, forcing players to quit vehicles to be not fired.

BIS needs to get their heads out of their duffel bags and quit releasing vehicles like the Falcon that are not fully capable of doing what they are suppose to do. Do not get me wrong this and the Quadcopter are the only two issues that needs to be fixed but why on earth why haven't BIS hasn't fixed the Quadcopter in the first place is beyond me...C'mon BIS get these things fixed!!!!! And quit releasing vehicles that are completely useless like the UAV Falcon!!!

Indeed they do on many levels. That head is soo far up it's own ass it's not funny they probably can taste their own tonsils at this point.

What is bad its not only Arma UAVs but even CUP UAV Helicopter does the same thing. I just BIS just doesn't care about this.

Bringing this topic back up because I think I've found a workaround for this (for the Falcon anyway).

When the Falcon starts going in circles & being stupid I think it has something to do with the altitude. For whatever reason when it's at super high altitudes it doesn't like to respond to waypoints very well, especially if you've given it waypoints already. So next time try this:

1. Right click the waypoint & cancel the waypoint.

2. Turn off autonomous.

3. Take control of the Falcon and safely bring it under 200m altitute, then turn on auto-hover.

4. Turn autonomous back on & set ur next waypoint.

Should work, it's been working for me.
