Problem with chopper model

hi,

 

i have a problem with my model in game .

When I'm at the back of the helicopter my model disappears , I do not know why?In OB the model does not exceed the grid area.

I'm probably talking shit (wouldn't be the first time) but I think the game uses the model's centre of gravity (changeable in the geometry lod) to calculate rendering and such to stop rendering objects outside your FOV to aid performance.

Backup your geometry LOD and have a play around with it. Obviously this will (probably) impact the flight characteristics but worth a test to see if it does in fact have any affect.

Does the helicopter disappear when you move away from it (increasing the distance) or only when you view from behind?

How many visual LOD's do you have in the model?

only when i'm view from behind and i have 2 lod (0 and 1001)

Those are odd numbers for the visual LOD's.

"1.000" and "2.000" would be more usual.

 

Does it look ok in Object Builder when you put on solid faces? (View>Projected, View>Solid Faces)

Have you Recalculated Normals (F5)?

Does it look ok in Bulldozer? (View>Viewers>Bulldozer>Start)

What happens if you temporarily delete the second visual LOD? (Change it to an EDIT LOD)

do you have a matching Geometry LOD? The game needs this for important calculations. A too small goemetry lod could lead to this
