Do you have all of the dependents installed?

I'm assuming a lot of the dependencies you are posting are simply because you had them loaded when making the missions, and not because the assets are actually in the missions, correct?

If I were you, I'd load the missions in the editor. Unbinarize the mission.sqm's. Exit.

Go into the mission.sqm file of each mission and delete the section called Binarized Addons, leaving just the { } (I'm not near my PC but I'm pretty sure the Addons are wrapped just in brackets).

Go back into the missions in the editor with ONLY the mods that have assets in your missions themselves loaded.

Place any object. Delete this object. Save.

Voila! You just removed unnecessary dependencies from your missions.

Oops, that would be no.  Didn't see them until you mentioned. Thanks.

Negative, Ive slimmed it down to what Ive used in mission and is needed to play it. Every mod listed needs to be installed to play except bloodlust, I simply put that in because I like it better with it in.

The exception is mission #3, for some reason the NAM map somehow "corrupts" the mission file even though ZERO assets from it are used. I found my way around with mission #4 by saving the entire mission in eden as a composition and pasting it inside the Kunduz map with the NAM map uninstalled. It worked and made me realize that the mod had somehow caused an issue with my save files. Since I had already uploaded mission #3 Ive been lazy about fixing that one.. Ill get around to it soon though, I wanted to finish the series first.

Also, a personal sidenote: My favorites are #2 and #4. They have a good amount of replay-ability, even for me.. the person who made them. ;)

Ah ok. I still think you can remove NAM and Esseker as dependencies simply by using the method I mentioned. Honestly, I would do that if I were you and for the one mission (#3) it would literally take you 2-3 minutes, tops.

Copy/pasting on a new map I think has its risks. Though the composition method is smart! Good idea. I'll keep that in mind for my own missions. :)

My favorite missions are ISIS/Taliban ones so I look forward to trying these!

Yeah, removing the Nam map as a dependancy is a good idea-it will stop a lot of people playing it if they need to download a quite large map that is not even used.

Thanks, Im going to do that here over the next few days.. Im pretty sure Ill have to do a lot of touch up on #3 because of the task overhaul, but hopefully not. Yeah, I hate having those maps as attachments but initially I had no idea how to fix it. The paste method was risky, for sure.. I laid down a few markers to ensure I was placing the composition down EXACTLY where the old assets were. It worked well, but Id hate to do it all over again with a finished mission.. Ill try what you mentioned and see if it doesnt break my brain.. lol.

And Im right there with you on the ISIS missions. I noticed a big hole there in the arma missions and that is exactly why I made these. I am a USMC veteran myself and had a lot of time spent over there.. it was cathartic making these missions. If they are well received Im sure Ill make more down the road here.

Thats a very good and valid point. Like I mentioned above over tomorrow and the next few days, if it takes that, Ill be trying to fix the missions that have excess dependencies on them. I appreciate the recommendation.. being new to this has had its hurdles.

On that note.. if anyone here does actually play through any of my missions, please offer some feedback here. Things you liked, things you didnt.. any bugs, etc.. all help is appreciated.

So I tried what was mentioned above.. to remove the unwanted mods.. It destroyed my file. Cant open it at all anymore.. and the bad part is I didnt think to make a copy first.

Oh well.. from now on I will just make sure to only install mods as I need them while making a mission.

You can't download your own mission from Workshop and re-aquire the file?

What exactly did you delete? The process of removing dependencies is very very straightforward. I had to do this yesterday in fact because I accidentally made LSD Fullscreen Night Vision a dependency in my Prophet mission.

It's very simple. If the mission.sqm is binarized, go into the mission in the editor with all the mods loaded. Click on Scenario on the top left. Click Save As. On the bottom you'll see a checkbox that asks if you want to binarize the scenario. Uncheck the box and save.

Open the mission.sqm and delete all of the text in the Binarized Addons section (it's a list of your mod requirements!), leaving just:

{
}
Save the mission.sqm.

Remove the unwanted mods from your modline and launch the game. Open the mission back up. Place any object down and then delete it. Save the mission. Done. If you want it binarized again, use the Scenario\Save As method described above instead.

I have a feeling depending on what the problem is, that this might fix your current peoblems too. There is no danger whatsoever in deleting the binarized addons section of a mission.sqm. Assuming you deleted the correct section.

I haven't tried the mission yet (I plan on it). Perhaps ask some of your steam subscribers to send the file back to you? I'd feel really really bad if your mission was lost forever. Surly someone has downloaded it and would be kind enough to send you a link.

I actually wouldn't mind removing the dependencies for you if send the mission over to me. I see no reason why the process I listed above wouldn't do the trick. I have no problem at all doing this for you if you want.
