dragonsyr 21 Posted April 24, 2016 I try to make a Terrain 120X120 km with 10 islands on map (aegean theater) I see that i must use 4096 with 30 cell size to get 120X120. so far so good... I have a 2048 heightmap tried to do it through terrain builder 4096x4096 but did not go 120x120km to come out with my real dimensions have to do it with 8192X8192 with this I have real dimensions horizontal, but the height is to Flat. The buldozer works with this map empty, but when i put any object in the map , I get error message for the coordinates and buldozer ctd. can i have 120X120km map with cell size 10???? how can i have more detail on my map? i need 8-10 but i cant find any combination to get 120X120 km map. what altis use to have this map detail? i continuing testings, i ll post more details later.... thanks
lato190 55 Posted April 24, 2016 #inb4someonecomeshereandpostnothelpfulanswerlikeyoushouldstartwithsmallerterrain: 8192 x 8192 is not supported, you have to use 4096 x 4096. you have to play with the grid & cell size or take a look at the source files of the Take on helicopter south east asia map, it is 120km x 120km. BI released them as source files, you can download them from this page.

dragonsyr 21 Posted April 24, 2016 thanks for the answers, @lato190, where is the link for source files?? btw , to get my real dimensions must do the following. my height map must set to 8192X8192. then the mapframe to get my map must set to 4096X4096 with 30 spacing. the map works this way in buldozer but, when i put any object i get "{error} landgrid refference exceeded the range [1023 ,1023], it is [1367, 1485]" and the buldozer closes

dragonsyr 21 Posted April 27, 2016 Height map on terrain I am working on uses 20480x20480 which equals 40960 with 2m res. works fine. what you mean equals to 40960 , 40960 with 2m res is less than 16,3 km X km witch is with 4m cell 20480 with the same 4m cell as example , have 8,1 km X km i setting up a map that it takes 122.8 km X km and i need exactly 40960 with 30 cell to achieve what I want if i use 40960 more detailed cell 20 ,10, 8,6,4 , ι will have 81.9 , 40.9 , 32.7 , 24.5 and 16.3 km X km have i understood correctly the grid and cells sizes?
