lato190 55 Posted April 15, 2016 More than 400 people were arrested Monday in a massive sit-in on the steps of the U.S. Capitol to protest the influence of big money and corporate lobbying in politics. The protest, organized under the name Democracy Spring, brought together activists from about 140 organizations who marched from Philadelphia to Washington last week. Similar acts of civil disobedience are scheduled throughout the week in Washington. We speak to Kai Newkirk, campaign director of Democracy Spring and co-founder and an organizer with 99Rise. He was arrested yesterday in the action at the U.S. Capitol. http://www.democracynow.org/2016/4/12/democracy_spring_over_400_arrested_at There is also a facebook page about the movement where planned events and informations are being shared: https://www.facebook.com/democracyspring/ I can not find anything on CNN, BBC etc. They seem to be silent about this. Seems like some people in the U.S are tired too. Here in europe we have the same problem.

dontknowhow 33 Posted April 16, 2016 with more than 400 arrests it would have been really strange if that hadn't been reported. In fact, it wasn't difficult to find more: http://www.nytimes.com/reuters/2016/04/11/us/politics/11reuters-usa-capitol-demonstration.html?_r=0 http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-capitol-demonstration-idUSKCN0X82M1 https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/public-safety/mass-arrests-of-protesters-in-demonstration-at-capitol-against-big-money/2016/04/11/96c13df0-0037-11e6-9d36-33d198ea26c5_story.html http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-36021159 And with some more work I found a few in German (for the record, I searched for "400 festnahmen"). The German press reports are mostly videos though: http://www.zeit.de/video/2016-04/4841608008001/usa-mehr-als-400-festnahmen-bei-demonstration-in-washington http://www.sueddeutsche.de/politik/mehr-als-festnahmen-bei-demonstration-in-washington-1.2945426 http://www.faz.net/aktuell/politik/video-mehr-als-400-festnahmen-bei-demonstration-in-washington-14173725.html http://de.reuters.com/article/usa-demonstration-festnahmen-idDEKCN0X90A2 http://www.stern.de/video-mehr-als-400-festnahmen-bei-demonstration-in-washington-6790680.html?utm_campaign=alle-nachrichten&utm_medium=rss-feed&utm_source=standard And apparently there is more recent news, with far fewer arrests: http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2016/04/15/us/politics/ap-us-capitol-protests.html https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/courts_law/democracy-spring-protesters-arrested-in-capitol-rotunda/2016/04/15/617775b6-0351-11e6-8bb1-f124a43f84dc_story.html

This situation reminds me of occupy movement back in 2011 when over 100.000 went to the streets but nothing changed. But good luck to the movement.
