Squad messages in combat

Recommended Posts

"OH NO 2 IS DOWN"

he sounds about as excited as if he's stepped on some chewing gum on the footpath.

BIS is there any chance, you would consider adding to the feel of the game in a future version by changing some of these types of messages to something like "Im hit! Im hit!"  "medic!" "sniper!" etc.

I reckon that it would add greatly to the atmosphere.

Then people might start running around saying "DROP YOUR WEAPONS!" like in DOD.

*shudder*

It's more realistic the way it is now since that is the way soldiers are supposed to report IRL. Like "Armor 2 o' clock" instead of "AAARRG save us - they are coming in tanks". I reckon it would be good with a little more emotion in the most tense situations, but the missionmaker should script that where it is needed.

Do a search in multiplayer, there are a couple of threads about it.

It would be cool to add firefight sounds in the back of the transmissions also like the "under fire" call.

customizing radio voices isn't so simple doing yourself. It's very time consuming. Remember that there isn't just one voice saying it all. If I remember correctly there are 4 or 6 characters all with their own versions. So re-recording the radio sounds yourself would make every man sound exactly the same, unless you have a couple of friends who are willing to do the voiceover with you. Then you have to add in that distortion effect to make it sound like a radio transmission, etc. I know, because I've done custom radio transmission for my multiplayer map and I had to speak a phrase a dozen times before it came out good while trying to immitate 3 different characters.

Radio voices are fine the way they are. There is a protocol on what sort of phrasing/language should be used in the battlefield.

"But Sir, I'm shot !"

"Everybody's shot"

The voices are good enough for me. As for the "chewy gum comment" In totaly inter service Humor Maner... It's just an Army dood, no one will care lol. Not like he can even shoot his rifle well. But After all there is no time for emotion in combat.
