Bits of ponds disappearing

Recommended Posts

I've added lakes to my map, but on some of them ,random bits that disappear, like in this picture,

that bit missing is one segment of the pond. When you get close it loads in.

I made the lake using "zr_dam_04_ep1" as it's square and easier to fit together. On some of the big lakes it don't do it at all, but some are are riddled with holes when you fly or see it from a distance.  Is it a bug with CUP or Arma, or do you have to make lakes another way??? I did try scaling one section bigger but it looks super laggy in game.

sorry, cant help with your problem but can I ask you a Q ?  :)

I want to use CUP ponds too. I downloaded the CUP terrain and now have 1000 .pbo's

do I have to unpbo all of these?  to P: ?..and is the terrain pack correct?

ooh, that's 3 Q's!

You got my hopes up there might be a fix :D

I only use the core pack. I extracted all the pbo's, then added all the ca folders it created to P:\ca. I then added the "ca" folder to Terrain Builder. I use x-cam or the new ingame 3D editor to build anyway, so don't really need a good layout in Template Library.

Is it possible that piece is bigger then the recommended 50x50m? Anything bigger then 50meters from the Origen runs the risk of anomalies like disappearing. Also keep in mind that because it is a model it will at some point pop out of existence the same as a house model at great distances.

That's one bit, the whole lake is made of that one bit joined together in x-cam, I haven't done any scaling to it or anything.

I didn't use the custom x-cam objects, it was just the cup pond objects I used.

Going by what I've read on google, is you can't have the same pond model twice... Is that what I'm having trouble with, or is them old posts even still relative now? If that is the problem, is there anyway of fixing it? Like by copying and renaming the pond objects or something??? It's driving me crazy
