interectic 10 Posted November 19, 2015 I was wondering if someone could help me in finding a way to make the convoy travel faster. They are super slow and it takes too long for them to get anywhere. Also they seem to stop every 100m and then keep going. This is also something I want to fix. Link to script: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=20265 Thank you. davidoss 552 Posted November 19, 2015 The script is written so that they have limited speed and sometimes stops to keep convoy together.
barbolani 198 Posted November 20, 2015 Just a side note: my experience is nowdays a number of two-three vehicles in the right stances (formation, behaviour etc..) stays reasonably close to each other, with no need of any additional scripts.
davidoss 552 Posted November 20, 2015 You do not knew Arma AI Intelligence enough to say something like that.
barbolani 198 Posted November 20, 2015 uhm, check my Antistasi mission, ask for a convoy mission to the officer in front of you, you will see (probably) the convoy sticks to (reasonable, probably) distances from one vehicle to another. And I haven't scripted anything but waypoints. BTW: Believe me, you cannot make a mission like this without being spending thousands of hours dealing with our beloved AI
interectic 10 Posted November 22, 2015 Ok thanks ill check it out.
jgaz-uk 132 Posted December 16, 2015 Anyone know if the script for them to get back in after the "enemy detected" script kicks in? I've been using norrin's script for a while, & every thing seems to work fine, but once the dismount to defend gets activated, I've yet to see the AIs remount & continue. interectic 10 Posted December 17, 2015 I am also having this problem.
jgaz-uk 132 Posted December 17, 2015 I wonder if Norrin himself could take a look at the problem. I did a search on the forum for Norrin but nothing came up...

jgaz-uk 132 Posted December 20, 2015 Now since last bis patch convoy vehicles overtaking each other randomly, & then vehicles that have been overtaken now move at walking pace FFS The whole thing needs a do-over! where is Norrin when you need him!
f2k sel 164 Posted December 23, 2015 It's not Norrin who needs to redo his script it's BIS who need to stop fixing none critical issues and sort out this mess. We will have more control of dogs and sheep than we do with vehicles if the latest patches are anything to go by.
interectic 10 Posted December 27, 2015 lol your right.
barbolani 198 Posted December 29, 2015 Well, you can allways make a sheep convoy...
jgaz-uk 132 Posted January 11, 2016 Your right about Bis updates! if you use a simple default way-point convoy of say 6 vehicles set in column half don't move off! Even transport unload in a waypoint for helicopters wont work more than half the time since last update. A few of us have gone back to ArmA2, (no updates!) when the bugs in A3 get too tedious. jgaz-uk 132 Posted January 28, 2016 After some experimenting with different options, I've found a simple solution that seems to iron out some of the bugs (not remount). And that is have a minimum number of way-points no more than 3 or 4 at the most. one at the start & one at the finish, and maybe one or two at max in the middle if you need to have the convoy take a specific road. Do NOT have one at every junction, or even on a junction, as that seems to cause the AI drivers confusion. With just 3 wps the convoy, even on a dedicated server, seems to run quite quickly & smoothly.
