djporternz 27 Posted November 3, 2015 Very quick question: WRT the ArmA 3 Tools / Samples betas I understand that the 'NONE' option will pull down the current Stable builds of these and that the 'development' build will pull down the current Dev build, but what does the 'licensed_data_packages' refer to? Or more precisely, as I do in fact understand the 'what' of these packages, but how do these relate to the Stable / Dev builds? If I want to remain on Dev branch and have access to these files do I need to take additional steps? Thanks in advance.
da12thMonkey 1943 Posted November 4, 2015 It's this stuff: https://www.bistudio.com/community/licenses/licensed-data-packages They're going to be removed from Steam eventually though: https://forums.bistudio.com/topic/184311-arma-3-samples-and-licensed-data-packages-important-update/ torrent and direct downloads hosted by BIS will stay availabe. Tom_48_97 523 Posted November 4, 2015 As a complement of information, this removal will happen with the next update of the main branch.
djporternz 27 Posted November 5, 2015 As a complement of information, this removal will happen with the next update of the main branch. Thank you for the 'Heads-Up' on that. Is it enough to copy the LicensedDataPackages folder to a safe place? I'm assuming that these files aren't going to be seeing any major changes going forward. Tom_48_97 523 Posted November 5, 2015 If you've moved it outside from Arma 3 Tools, then yes. Regarding the updates, they indeed won't receive any update.
R3vo 2654 Posted December 10, 2015 http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=26963 Can some dev take a look at this? It's a pain in the arse to update mods if the publisher doesn't work reliably.
