ussrlongbow 116 Posted September 6, 2015 Hello folks, I've been stuck with rather weird issue: What I have: Virtual machine with dedicated server Desktop with Arma 3 Laptop with Arma 3 (same steamid) All are located in the same subnet of home net. I want to connect both of them to debug MP mission, but second connection gets kicked off the game instantly I have tried to disable kickduplicate in server.cfg tried to disable battleye set ondoublid server command to "" But still no luck. PS I know about loopback option in server.cfg, still wanting to avoid it. Any advice? Thanks in advance :)
Tankbuster 1746 Posted September 6, 2015 On your dedicated server, install the steam tools dedicated server instead of using the server executable that came with your game. Steam client > library > tools > Arma 3 Server This runs independently of your client install and without an UID so the game doesn't think you're trying to play the game twice on the same UID. Tankbuster 1746 Posted September 6, 2015 Note that this server install can also run as a headless client, if you're into that.
ussrlongbow 116 Posted September 7, 2015 Hey, tankbuster, thanks for your reply, I am already using arma3server.exe for dedicated server, the problem is that two clients with same id won't connect (I need both client with interface). For now I am with loopback options, but still interested if things described in first post are possible.
terox 316 Posted September 7, 2015 You will need need 2 different steam accounts to connect both arma3 clients to the same server. Steam accounts only allow one instance of an owned game to run at a time. This has nothing to do with Battleye or BIS, it;s just the way Steam is and works I am not aware of a workaround for this and if one were to exist it would most likely be looked upon as piracy and may get you VAC banned. Bite the bullet buy a second copy for a second account when it comes on sale if you do that much mission development or ask a mate to help you out.
