Getting these jokers behind sandbags

Recommended Posts

Hey fellas, give me a hand here please.

I'm using switchmove"CombatToCrouch" to try to get soldiers to kneel down behind sandbag emplacements. They start out kneeling, but then either stand up right away or if I have their behaviour set to combat the kneel for a second and then lie down. How do I keep them kneeling so they won't lie down or stand up. I tried fiddling with the setunitpos command, but I can only find documentation on "up", or "down" nothing inbetween. Can anyone here give me a hand with this. I appreciate it.

All right I got them to stay crouched for longer than .3 seconds. I set their behaviour to "combat", set their combatmode to "yellow", set their unitpos to"up", then I switchmoved them to "combattocrouch", that keeps them there for a while, but if you walk to close to them, or sometimes they randomly engage from the kneeling, sometimes they stand up and engage, and sometimes, they engage and stand up. I want these jokers to stay in the kneeling even if Kate Moss walks up and asks if she can have a cup of cofee. Please help me out here, this is killing me.

create a script that continuosly loops repeating the command switchmove "CombatToCrouch"rock.gif

e.g.

#loop

_unit switchmove "CombatToCrouch"

goto "LOOP"

so what if its 3 years late.... tounge_o.gif

You could also use General Barron's Simple Cover script available here. You can set the unit position either standing, crouching, prone, or sitting. I will admit that sometimes the units to stand up after engaging in a firefight for a while. So either GB's or Blancos will work for you.
