infiltrator_2k 29 Posted May 31, 2015 (edited) I remember back in the day editing in Delta Force and using the wireframe feature to accurately place objects within a precise distance to one another. Why doesn't Arma have this feature? I'm currently putting together an ammo dump and it's a ball's ache having to keep restarting the mission to check the distances between objects and repeatedly tweaking it. bad benson 1733 Posted May 31, 2015 you should try this: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=27914 it's not listed in the feature section but i'm almost certain it has sqm export since it's mentioned in the changelog. you could do your placement in a separate mission and then merge it with your main mission. I think the wireframe is a massively overlooked feature in the editor. Hopefully the devs will add it sooner rather than later. It just seems ironic that an old game's editor had this feature over 15 years ago
infiltrator_2k 29 Posted June 6, 2015 OK Bad Benson, tonight I've tested out MapBuilder and although it takes a while to get use to I can confirm it rocks! :cc: A must have for any mission maker! NeoArmageddon you're a star!
bad benson 1733 Posted June 6, 2015 he is indeed. he deserves a lot of credit for what he did there. it's very simple but also very powerful. just how it needs to be. i'm glad it helped you. maybe this thread will show some more people the value Map Builder has for mission makers eventhough it was initially created for terrain making. BIS must have this in the pipeline for its devs. It's just so practical and makes life so much easier when editing. An official version is well overdue IMO. Undeceived 392 Posted June 7, 2015 Does MapBuilder save as .sqm too? I didn't test it, but as I read this thread, it might be a great and useful tool - anyway I feel the need to throw one more project in here, which absolutely blew me away and pretty much "intimidates" with the possibilities it offers: X-Cam
