helldesign 10 Posted March 8, 2015 (edited) Hey all, Since my PC is old I'm trying all kinds of tweaks just to get a little more FPS. My current processor is Intel Core2Quad Q8400 which has 4 cores but they are not hyperthreaded i.e. every core has 1 thread. So I have 4 cores = 4 threads What is the correct number to use in the starting parameters -cpuCount= and -exThreads= ? I guess the cpuCount should be 4, but will this override automatically my exThreads to 7 (which will be wrong)? Also according to the "Wiki", the numbers for the -exThreads parameter could be 0,1,3,5,7. I have 4 threads, so what number to use? 3 or 5? Greenfist 1863 Posted March 8, 2015 Use 7, which means 3 extra threads. Or remove -cpucount and -exthreads completely. Same result.
Fushko 59 Posted March 8, 2015 Don't bother. These parameters are automatically set by the game according to your hardware.
helldesign 10 Posted March 8, 2015 Use 7, which means 3 extra threads. I thought exthreads=7 is if you have 4 hyperthreaded cores (8 threads), but it seems I'm wrong. Thanks for the help.
