Placebo 29 Posted September 30, 2002 Also when you click the link hold down the CTRL key, that should force IE to download the new file and ignore anything that may be in the cache
Stag 0 Posted September 30, 2002 Sounds like Placebo is on the case. The file is definitely good, so there must be something else amiss. Sorry I can't help there.

Stag 0 Posted September 30, 2002 Okay, Look in your OFP\Addons folder. You will see a folder labelled Somalia. Open it, click on Somalia.pbo, and hit the keys Ctrl-C. Go back to The OFP\Addons folder and hit the Keys Ctrl-V. Start OFP
JAP 2 Posted September 30, 2002 Thx for all the help there. Nothing s working cause i already tried all that. I ll reinstall ofp tomorrow and start over. Maybe it s a prob with my ofp. Cheers

Placebo 29 Posted October 1, 2002 Just checked the zip I have on my hd which is supposedly the latest version, the pbo is dated 20:13 27/7/02, is that right?
JAP 2 Posted October 1, 2002 mine too. So it must be something else Now i just have to figure out what ! What desert islands do you guys have ? Where should the textures be ( the changed ones ? )
Stag 0 Posted October 1, 2002 Right. I think the best thing I can do here is create a completely new zip. I didn't do that, because I didn't want to mess with AKA's original work too much. Will make it available to the hosts once the job is done. Placebo, just out of curiosity, did you have any problems?

Stag 0 Posted October 1, 2002 New file is up. If this doesn't work the only thing I can think is that the process of zipping is corrupting the textures somehow. Give it a shot, JAP, let me know immediately if there is still a problem.

The only other desert map I have installed is the Desert Malden map. However I have another installation of OFP that I use for WWII/Vietnam mods which I'll try out with the Somalia addon as it doesn't have any other desert map addons. Also is the URL to the new version you just put up the same as the original URL you put up on the first page of this thread? miles teg 1 Posted October 1, 2002 Ok, for those who are finding this as frustrating as me, the newest version seems to be at: http://old.fileplanet.com/dl....lia.zip However it's not even marked as being for resistance...I'm downloading it right now only because it appears to have been updated Oct. 1, so I guess this is the right version. Â Â Hopefully this one will work. Â But I suggest that you make it clearly marked for OFP Resistance... Â well if it works that is. From the one one that didn't work it looked like it had a lot of potential and I may decide to port my original Blackhawk Down mission to this map. Â Still I hope eventually that Resistance apartment buildings are added to it as well as dirt roads going in between the buildings. miles teg 1 Posted October 1, 2002 Ok I just tried it again on both of my installations of OFP:R and the same problem is still there. In addition the latest version has the SAME files (same date and file size) as the first ones so was anything even changed other then just re-zipping them? Also why are their two files that are exact identical files??? My guess is that you stuck the 1.46 version into the folder that's supposed to have the 1.75 version. I don't know anything about map making so unfortunately I can't help trouble shoot more then that, but I recommend that you get with someone with a lot of experience with desert maps and see if they can help you figure out what's going on. Maybe even get with the guy who made the "Skye" island addon to see if he can tell you how to add Resistance apartment buildings in the Somalia map to simulate the Olympic hotel. OH...by the way...just to double check, this map is for OFP: Resistance correct??? And no special modifications need to be done to it to get it to work? If there is no reason for the second .pbo file then please remove it as it's just wasted space if it's just a duplicate of the .pbo file in the Somalia folder.
