JayJaxHD 10 Posted November 21, 2014 So let me explain. > Im dutch im tired im can not think and type/speak clearly anymore and ect ect. Okay there we go. I have a dedi server Linux dist *UBUNTU* A3server installed perfectly fine mods everything works greate. Performance: well never knew i would tell you guys this but its better then windows almost 84% better. Stability: well read the upper message you will know it should be good. Problems. Since you already know im on linux and almost 78% of all the 3rd party tools are MS Based and have little to non support for linux, and yeah that 78% of those programs are really usefull better then the other %% thats available. Most of you guys know that many people uses BEC. well i got it somehow working but i get alot of these things : 22:47:04 : Admin file contains a error. guid tag can not be empty, Location id=0 22:47:04 : Please wait... Connecting to the Server when the Timeout has expired! 22:47:23 : Connecting to Battleye server 37.59.120.246:2302 22:47:25 : No Valid response. Trying to reconnect.! 22:47:29 : No Valid response. Trying to reconnect.! 22:47:33 : No Valid response. Trying to reconnect.! 22:47:37 : Lost Connection! 22:47:37 : Closing socket & exiting! I simply have tried many things nothing worked out. So i was thinking hmm no valid response means he knows it exists but doesnt get a straight forward acceptance *legit message back*, then i was searching around found nothing only thing is change your startup param's -*Tried every single thing*- but non of them worked. Then i was thinking for a bit longer maybe for about 3 hours of thinking and thinking messing around and then my brain cracked the wife comes by complains about the kid i created, so i took a little break of about 4 hours. 4 hours later: Hmm lets try Rcon's and there i go download multiple of em : battleWarden EPMRcon BERCon Found out even thos cant connect to it. *SHIZZZZZ WHYYY* Okay lets monitor : BattlEye Server: Initialized (v1.196) *CHECK* BattlEye/BEServer.cfg *CHECK* Config/Config.cfg - BePath = z:\home\arma3server\serverfiles\BattlEye *CHECK* What the.. wait i dont know anymore and now im here asking for help and assistance. ( more info im using wine yes with vnc access aswell ) Help me?
ZertyKchan 14 Posted November 22, 2014 For the Rcon problem, it is related to the case sensitivity of the BattlEye/BEServer.cfg file. Try putting everything in lower case.
JayJaxHD 10 Posted November 22, 2014 Yes i have tried that already Zerty. not working.
ZertyKchan 14 Posted November 22, 2014 One additional question, you are using the W32 or unix binaries of the server?
JayJaxHD 10 Posted November 22, 2014 Arma 3 dedicated server as SH aka Linux - Bec as wine. So its unix haha
ZertyKchan 14 Posted November 22, 2014 Your main problem is that ARMA 3 is not finding the beserver.cfg For references, I am currently using the same system and my configs are: -bepath=/home/arma/server/configs/Server1/profile/battleye in the Arma startup parameters BePath = C:\server\configs\Server1\profile\BattlEye in the BEC config. (Yeah IK it is strange but it works that ways) The real path is all in lower case, the beserver.cfg also in lower case. Hopping it helps

soldat_ryan 10 Posted November 22, 2014 Humm, just for info : Do you know http://www.bigbrotherbot.net/ ? (aka B3). It is not BEC but you are able to do almost everything (rcon commands, manage bans and kick, give admin rights to players, set messages in game, ...) And the most important it is fully available for Linux users (no need wine so you win DS perf) - It is available also for windows users.
nuxil 2 Posted November 22, 2014 (edited) Your main problem is that ARMA 3 is not finding the beserver.cfg Thats sounds about correct. Bec will complain if the "BePath" set in Bec's config does not exsist. However. this dosent mean that Arma is actually using that path you have set in Bec. So since you cant login to your server at all.. We can assume that the path you have set in Bec's config is not the one the server is using. I dont know how things are with linux. But i belive your best choice is to do something like what ZertyKchan showed with using -bepath etc. BigBrotherBot (B3) is iirc open source and has native linux support. (a python interpreter is required tho) In someway i would prefere that people used this B3 over Bec when dealing with linux. Since i cant really give any support on linux. on my end it will just be a guessing game. esp when it comes to using wine. The only thing i know when using Wine is that you need to use the --dsc startup argument with Bec. JayJaxHD 10 Posted November 22, 2014 Wel actualy at the moment i want to have a schreduled restart and automated global message. So bec is best thing to use. But at the moment i have trouble with the auto restart. Since i use unix lib's and linux startup cmd cant recognize the startup file. So if there is something that is the same as bec just let me know! As long it has schreduled auto restarts and global messages.
soldat_ryan 10 Posted November 23, 2014 So if there is something that is the same as bec just let me know!As long it has schreduled auto restarts and global messages. B3 does it ! you just have to use 82ndab-Bravo17's plugins for autorestart (it is call A2 but it works for A3). Global message are in adv.conf by default config. (I m not B3's crew/dev just a B3 user ! :) )
