Bikeys and Bisigns tutorial

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have been creating bikeys and bisigns for our mods (some custom and some public) for a few months now and I have a system that is really easy to use. in order to make sure all our players are up to date with mods, we create a new set of signs every time a mod is added or deleted. with the commands i use each .pbo is signed automatically in the folder, rather than 1 by 1. this way we only need 1 key on the server for all mods we run.

I thought I would make a tutorial for mod authors and clan leaders as i found it really hard to learn this due to the limited amount of information on the web. But first i am asking permission to post such a tutorial as ultimately it gives anybody the ability to create new bikeys and bisigns for any mod out there. on the other hand I see a lot of mod authors struggle with this topic as some of their keys are outdated and cause problem, and some mods aren't signed at all, so i think it will benefit a lot of ppl.

Moderators and mod authors please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks

You can create bikeys and bisigns for every mod using ArmA 3 Tools and about 4-5 clicks. I don't see a need for a tutorial as the ArmA 3 tools are pretty much self explanatory.

Thread name changed and moved to more appropriate forum location. Personally i see no issue as a Moderator and Addon maker, to have a tutorial as it will be a useful feature to have. As long as it is done correctly and has all the correct information present. With the new Arma3 tools it is much more accessible to create a server key, previously in Arma2 it was abit more complex.
