itsdonjon 25 Posted July 29, 2014 Hey there BIS-Forum! I got a "problem" with retexturing vehicles through the "setObjectTextureGlobal"-command. The textures i am using are WAY to bright when in-use in-game, but on Gimp they are..exactly how i want them. A friend of mine said, he read something about making an layer of an "metalic mesh" over the real camo. But he wasn't sure about it..so i think its best to ask you guys! So, what do I have to do, that the textures look ingame like they do out of the game? Greetz, Don!
Heinrich Kramer 172 Posted July 29, 2014 Lighting ingame always looks different than the lighting in a 3D Program or in your case, Gimp. the best way is to darken the texture a bit and desaturate also a little bit, to make it look a bit worn off. it is basically trial and error, with some time you will know instinctively how much you need to darken to get the effect you want. btw it is mostly too much colour information, instead of a too bright texture. warlord554 2065 Posted July 29, 2014 Once you have your texture the way you like, always darken a little. It will almost always be too bright ingame
itsdonjon 25 Posted July 29, 2014 Thank you! Then i'll try to make a dark but translucent level above it :)
