Arma stopped responding

Recommended Posts

the last two weeks I can not start Armu 3

on Steam click on "play" Select the game in fullscreen / window game starts and flashes me a black screen and the game stops immediately respond

(on a second monitor I see in Task Manager that immediately after the running game becomes unresponsive)

most of the problems I can solve alone, but now I do not know what to do with it

I do not know if I did it chasing a program on the PC (nothing neobviklého are not installed) maybe it was Win. update ... :/

We tried to disable all the programs set to start after turning on the PC - did not help

We thought that it makes me DEV version of Arma, so we threw it out and allow only stable version - did not help

complete reinstallation of the game did not help

interesting that the Arma stopped working after a year after the launch: D

I've probably lost what is the problem

Later the next day we had the same problem and I turned Fraps and MSI Afterburner ....

so I really do not know what it may be

you can check your C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Arma 3\ report.

You might want to post it so others can check it too.

Are you playing other games too?

Is your memory ok? (in case check with memtest86)

Is your filesystem ok? (in case check with chkdsk)

Did you do any driver updates? If so, try to uninstall, go into Safe mode, use Driver Cleaner to remove eventually existing parts of the driver, and re install the older one you had before.

Easiest thing: Renamy your C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Arma 3 to ArmA 3 backup - this way, ArmA will have to generate a new configuration. Perhaps your current config is damaged. (This would explain why re install didn't help for example)

Im having the same issue. My game use to work maybe 2 weeks ago, but now it just starts and freezes on the first screen. Ive tried re-installing, checking the integrity of the game files, steam trouble shooting, and update all the drivers.

some one please help with this issue.

If your playing through the actual steam application might want to check your anti virus settings, possible to conflict with programs that use internet connections. What OS are you using?

im using windows 7. I have never had issues running Arma 3 before. It seems like the new update may have messed things up. I also tried the Beta for Arma 3 and doesn't work, i have the same issue.

Hmmmm. Weird. I haven't updated steam in a while so I couldn't comment on any update problems. You could try a system restore to a point before the update maybe

I guess that would be possible - did disabling Fraps solve the problem totally?

Otherwise from the RPT I'd say - unplug all devices (External HDD, Joystick, Gamepad, 2nd Mouse/Keyboard, USB Headset, WebCam, etc.).

Also if possible - disable your soundcard (in the device manager) (for testing purpose to check if there would be a driver problem).

I guess renaming the ArmA 3 config folder in your userdirectory didn't help?

Edit: did a check on my rpts:

...

Error: JoystickDevices - CoInitilizeEx return 80010106

Detected Joystick: Logitech Attack 3

0 ... X-Achse [1,30]

1 ... Y-Achse [1,31]

2 ... Z-Achse [1,32]

Error: CoInitilizeEx (XAudio2-1st trial) return 80010106

PhysX3 SDK Init started ...

PhysX3 SDK Init ended.

SimulWeather - Cloud Renderer - noise texture file is not specified!

I guess the USB / Joystick devices and audio aren't a problem as this error might come up on other systems too.

Perhaps check if you can Update / Reinstall the PhysX SDK.

I took a look in my SoftwareCenter and I found it as Nvidia PhysX, size = 86,1MB, version 9.11.1107
