meatshield 13 Posted March 20, 2014 Why did you change the sounds BI?? they were working fine, they sound like cheap plastic nock offs now. Also theres an extra clunking noise after you fire the lynx but nothing on the gun is moving .. so how it can makeing sound?? :banghead: I do like the new truck though! :)
chompster 29 Posted March 20, 2014 Complains about sound being changed. Doesn't specify what sound. nice one OP..
meatshield 13 Posted March 20, 2014 well if you use sound mods you wouldnt have noticed anything different, but the default gun sounds are totally different to what they were pre-patch, and not for the better unfortunately :(
hardsiesta 1 Posted March 20, 2014 They changed the fatigue sounds too. While now it's easier to tell whether you're hurt or not, by the sound, I liked the original 'healthy' state fatigue sound better. Wish it was an option.

I don't use sound mods, and the guns sounds are the same as they have been since probably the Beta, with the exception of the ACP which does have a new sound that is utterly abysmal. The only thing they may have changed about them is the 'closure' sound of the working parts. Edited March 20, 2014 by 2nd Ranger

Not that I'm any expert, or heard one live. Thought I was tripping about the mechanical sounds, myself.
2nd ranger 282 Posted March 20, 2014 No, the ACP, the AAF pistol.
hardsiesta 1 Posted March 20, 2014 Righteous. Agreed, that one does sound rather odd.
Kerc Kasha 102 Posted March 20, 2014 The closure sounds are now working they're the same sounds just a bug was fixed
Elena 2 Posted March 21, 2014 The Guns themselves have the same fireing-sounds than previously. But now you can also hear secondary sounds, such as the mechanical parts closing, snapping back of the Hammer etc. In my Opinion, much better. I mean, these first-person-sounds were one of the main reasons people used JSRS back in A2 already. Now BIS includes them vanilla, and you guys are complaining? I love the new sounds of the MX, absolutely, and they sound really good on my 5.1 Surround. Don't know what you're talking about, what sounds odd.

I think the MX sounded OK in 1.12 (punchy, solid but a bit restrained) but since 1.14 it sounds really harsh, thin, clattery, distorted and even a bit plastic like! I have to be honest: I'm not sure which one is more realistic but I liked the previous sound a lot better. I already tried to "fix" it but haven't succeeded yet. I to use 5.1 surround and sound is important to me. I'm sure the main new thing now is not "secondary sounds" but the primary firing sound sounds more like excessive EQ-ed and Pitch shifted (higher). TBH I wouldn't be surprised if it's a completely different sample: it sounds totally different. Edited April 1, 2014 by peewee678
