DayZ References in ArmA 3

Recommended Posts

Finally got around to start the second part of the campaign and I've already found a DayZ reference in the first mission.

A can of baked beans and a box of antibiotics.

Anyone else find any references to DayZ or any other games developed by Bohemia Interactive?

Go to the editor, all the objects in empty -> object (small) come from DayZ.

Ahh, I was not aware of this. I haven't played ArmA 3 in a few months so a lot of this is still new to me.

Thanks for information!

Yeah, somewhere around the time the first campaign episode was launched they were given these items from the DayZ team. Here are most, if not all, the items added: Development Branch Changelog - Oct 15 2013

Kinda nice of them to do so, makes it a bit more authentic :)

Funny, I actually got into the town and gunned down by people with better kit than me whilst I scavenged. It all makes sense now! :p

Would this count as a reference or just recycling currently made assets?

Who knows, but as Mitrail and colossus have said, they are assets from DayZ.

The way the second part of the campaign starts out is also very reminiscent of DayZ.
