stealth2668 12 Posted January 23, 2014 That's adorable. you have 32gb of ram. You've taken overkill and smashed it in the face. I stand firm on 8gb for a solid experience, 16 for overkill, and 32 should only be used by professionals. Your solution is only available to people who have at least 16gb of ram, which the op doesn't need. He NEEDS to oc his machine and get 8gb of ram. Exactly. 8 GB is optimal for gamers, anymore is a waste unless you do other things. IDK why people are recommending an SSD before 8 GB RAM, makes no sense. KingScuba 1 Posted January 24, 2014 With regards to RAM.. I have Win 7 32bit with 4GB, i7 920 stock, and an SSD drive. Average FPS? 30-40 I average 40 to 60, however I'm also using 5760x1080p (triplescreen) over ultra. I tried uc'ing my computer from 4.4 to 4.0, and I lost about 10 fps. jiltedjock 10 Posted January 24, 2014 (edited) 32-bit applications can't use more than 3GB of RAM. Wrong. A 32 Bit app running on 64 Bit Windows can use up to 4GB of RAM. Additionally, Arma uses a bespoke filemapping API to get over the limitations of the 32 Bit address space [see Fred's Post #29 which is about the only informed post in this thread, which everyone has chosen to ignore. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose on these forums]. So potentially Arma can use over 5GB if you have it. Edited January 24, 2014 by jiltedjock

rekrul 7 Posted January 29, 2017 This is a 3 year old thread that is not relevant to what you're asking. There's a pinned thread for checking HW specs so try that instead:

Everything else is fine if not overkill. Also, nothing can run A3 well if you're playing with over 60 people on a server. Just a heads up, you'll get a slideshow on a big/cheap server. Also stop bumping years-old threads because you want attention.
