DarKArMa 10 Posted December 26, 2013 (edited) Hi is there a mod that allows the player to take cover behind buildings cars or trees or any other object. Like Gears Of War. i know there is a mod called SLX but that doesn't take cover like gears of war. I know im comparing 2 totally different games. But the taking cover system that gears of war has will make Arma 2 more life like. Or even Far Cry 3 Taking Cover system would be awesome. instead of just proning and crouching. Im sorry if this is to difficult to achieve. i just think that with the Taking cover system. Arma 2 will be more of a life like Military Simulator. Gunter Severloh 4057 Posted December 26, 2013 Hi COSLX has no cover system, idk where you got the idea from that it had a cover system, anyways no there is no cover system in Arma2/CO I would have found it if it were there. All i can suggest is hide behind a wall and go to 3rd person view, thats essentially what you want. pulstar 55 Posted December 26, 2013 (edited) It's the third-person shooter genre with cover mechanics that reduce many of those games to a whack-a-mole type of fest. First-person shooters like Killzone 3 implement this feature as well, but sims like Arma aren't really that twitch-based. If you want to use cover in arma you'll have to work for it, ie position your unit behind objects and use crouching and leaning to fire suppressing rounds. Medal of Honor Airborne had a cover system where you hold the zoom key and using WASD you can crouch and lean pretty fast.
