First try to port guns from A2 to A3

Hello,

iam currently trying to find out how to port weapons from the samples from A2 to A3.

for this try i took the: mk16_short_ironsights.p3d

Oxygen tells me in the "Mass Texture & Material renaming" Tool that i need this files:

scar_acc_co.paa

scar_l_co.paa

scar_l_metal.rvmat

scar_l.rvmat

scar_acc.rvmat

metalplate.rvmat

i found them and put them into my folder too

After some repathing i got the scar ingame, but it looks like this:

a little bit too black in my opinion. I know that the texture was correct before i attached the rvmat's

Any idea whats going wrong? I took the rvmats from the sample models and paa textures from my ArmA 2 installation.

additionally iam looking for this files:

Default_TI_CA.paa

Metal_rough_DT.paa

env_land_co.paa

u find the searched files in the binarized pbo's that BI released few days ago... unpack pbos and get the paa's !! in the sample-models all textures in o2 going on .tga, must changed to .paa !! ;)

rvmat must open with text editor, some have a path to a tga, some not...

You found textures in the packages? I just found the models and rvmats Oo

You have to unpack them from the games pbos I think...

Yeah, that was what i did, but i found the solotion for my problem. I patched the game to the highest version and tried it again. Now the Scar has the right Color.

In Version 1.0 there must be somthing wrong with the textures O.o.

Seems your RVMAT is wrong. I'd highly suggest looking into the rvmat of the MX so that the scar doesn't look like a straight A2 port but also takes advantage of the new reflection Arma offers.
