Shado_wolf 0 Posted August 26, 2002 Just curious, how involved vehicles are in multiplayer? Do you get to use helicopters and such and to what extent? I am looking at recommending this game to my group that I play online with but want to know what I am talking about before we all run out and get the game. Thanks. PS Sorry if this has been brought up my search results didn't seem to answer this question.Digital Demons

Frisbee 0 Posted August 26, 2002 Depends from mission to mission, you have mp missions where both sides start with eg 3 helo's,two MBT's,two AA,four APC's and some jeeps trucks and the men of course. But it just depends on the missions really.
Mister Frag 0 Posted August 26, 2002 I would suggest you download the demos from this site. Although you don't get to use all of the vehicles or weapons that are in the game, it will give you a good idea of what the game is like. And yes, you can use every vehicle that is modeled in the game, as well as the many new ones being added by the OFP community. This includes motorcycles, cars, trucks, APCs, IFVs, tanks, fixed wing and rotary aircraft, as well as ships. One problem with the current engine is that only one person can be firing from a vehicle at any time, so you can't have two soldiers firing from an APC, or have the gunner fire a tank cannon while the commander uses a machine gun, for example. ralphwiggum 6 Posted August 26, 2002 yes, it is dependent on mission-by-mission basis. some missions will be totally infantry, foot-soldier based(especially spec ops missions) and some will be totally vehicle based, and some will be mix of those two. as Mister Frag said earlier, there is a MP demo available for Operation Flashpoint Resistance, which is about 75 megs. download and give it a shot. maker sure you have recommended system specs. if you do buy the CD, i can probably tell you that you'll get your ego crushed within seconds getting into either campaign or single player missions(mine was). but if you want to test new vehicles (once you buy the CD), you can goto mission editor and place yourself, and place empty vehicles and have loads of fun driving around and shooting
