Whats a good sound editor?

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to edit some sounds i found to go in my missions, but all of them that i found act really weird for files in .ogg format. Anyone know of anything reliable?

I use Sound Forge 5 wich provides excellent results.

It has an onboard .ogg- Konverter

If you mean "acting weird" like looping and such, it has nothing to do with the converter I guess. Use OGGdrop myself, converted a Wav file to OGG, now the music loops.

But not only the song I was using in the mission, all of the music in OFP is looping. I even re-installed OFP and Resistance at one point, worked fine, but after a reboot the looping was back.

Strange thing, it doesn´t loop when playing the OGG files with other software like Winamp.

Try this page at Avon´s FAQ - it describes the looping sound issue (didn´t help me, though):

http://www.theavonlady.org/theofpfaq/resistance/trouble/soundloop.htm

Is this the kind of problem you have now?

I use DBPowerAmp, but I heard that people are having trouble with a newer version. I never upgraded and it still works fine.

I use that one too Bosun.

Try searching on Google. Youll find something eventually. Trial and error.

By "acting weird", i mean loading the file as a short stream of static. Hence, i believe these programs to be ogg incompatible.

Also, neither of the previously mentioned programs worked confused.gif

There is a ogg plug in for goldwave. It seems to work well with ofp.
