bigshot 64 Posted September 20, 2013 (edited) Did a quick search and it seems the Author of DAC hasn't posted here for 3 years. Has anyone heard anything from Silola at all regarding making his DAC addon compatible with A3? ...the A2 version throws off tons of errors in A3 rpt logs (even though the basics do seem to function) making it a no-go for now :-( Doesn't seem there's much talk about an update going on, which is a real shame since DAC is clearly one of the the most important and powerful addons ever created for this game (since the OFP days!). andersson 285 Posted September 27, 2013 I had a look around and found this: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?147891-DAC-Arma-3 which leads to this: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?99753-Dynamic-AI-Creator-(DAC)-V3-0-released&p=2313989&viewfull=1#post2313989 Should work. bigshot 64 Posted September 27, 2013 anderson, i'm guessing you didn't really read my original post at top of this page? I'm also the last post on that 2nd link you gave which you also have not read. Point is...while some things work with DAC in Arma3 (and some do not work)...you really can't use it right now unless you turn off the logging in the game because DAC will throw off literally MILLIONS of error lines on large missions and all these errors get logged to your .rpt file which gets saved on your system hard drive taking up lots of space. For example...the other day I played a mission using DAC, the mission lasted about 90 minutes and afterwards the .rpt file for arma grew to about 300MB!....can you imagine if someone released a DAC mission publicly? Since most people do not know about having a .rpt file on their sys drive or how to turn it off, you can just imagine after playing a bunch of DAC missions that their system drives would eventually run out of space and they'd have no idea why and would probably end up thinking they have to buy a new hard drive since theyd have no idea its the arma rpt file (and DAC) that is the cultprit. To release a DAC mission right now would be irresponsible on the part of the mission maker. I'm only still using it in my own missions because I looked up how to turn off logging...but by default everyone's logging is ON.
andersson 285 Posted September 27, 2013 I did really read your first post, and I read it the way that you tried DAC A2 "as is". I missed that you were already involved in the threads I gave you :) I did a search on my own as I'm also very hooked on DAC and thought I would share them. Well well... Too bad then... Hope someone with code-skills help us all out one day.. Or the best would be for Silola to resurrect!
instagoat 133 Posted September 27, 2013 Wasn't DAC made by people from mapfact? Mapfact has been disbanded for a very long while, and I've not seen "official" updates for DAC in ages by anybody.
