hcpookie 3770 Posted September 16, 2013 I let Steam automatically update my A3 install and afterwards I notice there are many PBO's listed with _beta in the name. Example: air_f.pbo air_f_beta.pbo ... etc. on down the list. I *assumed* that the update would have removed any outdated, non-relevant files. Perhaps this is an improper assumption? A3 seems to work fine with them in place...
5133p39 14 Posted September 16, 2013 Yes, required. Unless updating the game via Steam removes some files, i'd recommend to keep everything as it is.
tonygrunt 10 Posted September 16, 2013 While it might say beta it doesn't necessarily mean this is in reference to the beta of the developement cycle. It's probably used as naming scheme for breaking up and categorizing the addons, as after air_f_beta.pbo comes air_f_gamma.pbo (alpha, beta, gamma, delta, .....). hcpookie 3770 Posted September 16, 2013 LOL good point. That's what I get for not drinking enough coffee this morning :)
zeotrope 24 Posted September 17, 2013 Look a little closer...you will see PBO's with the filename "Gamma" I assume as we progress and get more content, we will see other references "Charlie and Delta" etc. Required
