Question about ai-units in a multiplayer

I used the multiplayer wizard to make a CTF map and now I’m just adding extra stuff like empty Tanks and plains.

My question is: I'm also adding some working AI-groups of tanks to hold a location, but will they show up when I host my map online?

I’m just using these AI-groups to defend the bases from air attacks

Try not to over do it, will lower performance.

btw, I put some AI tank units to guard a location but when I flew away in my chopper to go get the enemy flag, the tanks seemed to follow me. This doesn’t seem to make sense because I placed one way point over the leader of the group and set the way point from Move to "Guard" that location.

Would it be better to use Hold instead of guard to make sure they always stay in that spot? What’s the difference between Guard and Hold?

Guard waypoint = Units will goto location that enemy ( you ) has been spotted last. They will engage AND follow you.

So better to use hold or just only a move waypoint. if you put a shilka there s no need for the tanks to follow you anymore tounge.gif

Ya, I’ll just use hold like you said.

Just so you know what I’m doing. The Vulcan’s are only used for guarding a parameter around the US base, just as the shilka AI is for the Russian base. See I want to make sure that if a plain even gets near any of the base, it will be shot down very quickly, and so far it is worked as pained. I also have it set up where each countries base is graded by one chopper with full experience. Seems like that will work well, but when a plane approaches a base, the chopper will engage it, and might eventually end up at the opposite base. Just something you have to consider.

Oh and I think the number of units you have now are ok, but don't add too many more AI as network games might get a bit slow.
