Support Provide: Transport Helicopter on dedicated server - kicks me out after pickup

Recommended Posts

I have a mission with a transport helicopter support provider module in place. When I run the mission from the editor, the transport helicopter module works perfectly. When I export the mission as a multiplayer mission and run that mission on my dedicated server, the module malfunctions. I can request the transport helicopter and it flies to my location, however, when I get in the transport helicopter I get ejected after about one second, then the transport helicopter flies away.

Can anyone help me with this please?

Unfortunately a number of BIS modules are not written with the intention of including support for dedicated servers. They include scripting that uses the term 'player'

which can require the host to also be a playable unit. If you use ArmA 2 as an example, it can take months or even years for BIS to get around to adding dedicated server compatibility. The best bet is to extract and edit the modules from the game files or write a standalone version using an existing community mission or forum topic.

Thanks for your response. I understand what you are saying.

Thanks for the reply kushluk, any chance you could explain how i can add the arti, transport and supply drops to my mission so they run on dedicated server, im fairly new to scripting and have made an insugency that relies on these quite heavily, without them the mission is a bit rubbish, any help at all much appreciated :-)

I have the same issue.

To summarize these support modules on a dedicated server:

Artillery: Works normally.

CAS: Works normally

Supply Drop: Works but seems to spawn one supply crate for the server and one per client connected. So in my test it was three; one for the server, one for the headless client and one for me.

Air Transport: Air transport chopper responds to request and arrives normally but when you get in it ejects you from the chopper.

Seems to me that this Air transport bug might be to do with the locality of the chopper? Is the AI chopper transferred to the client when they board it and thus loses its waypoints? I think we should consider these bugs and not content that was never intended for dedicated. They are close to functional and just need some tweaks.

Very very annoying, I just paid for this. i've had all the Arma's from OFP on and one simple thing. Move squads with Helicopters in MP has never worked without clumsy work arounds.

Playing on a LAN at home Host player works fine, client player same problem as described by OP. I really thought ARMA3 might of addressed this, really dissapointed ! Grrrrrrr
