SKULLS_Viper 0 Posted August 10, 2002 I finaly got my air rifle!I had to wait 2weeks and 3 days.I ordered it online from Airgunstore, and they had it on back order, (since its a hard to get gun) for about 2 weeks. Then they get it, then ship it to me, and i have to wait 3 days, for the shipping. Its a Gamo 440 combo .22 cal, and it shoots at 750 fps. SINGLE SHOT BRAKE BARREL - SINGLE COCKING SYSTEM AUTOMATIC COCKING SAFETY SYSTEM COCKING EFFORT:-38 LB. BARREL - PRECISION RIFLED STEEL ACCURACY. 0.20" GROUPS AT 30 YARDS (CENTER TO CENTER) TRIGGER: 2 STAGE - 1ST STAGE ADJUSTABLE MANUAL SAFETY SPECIFICATIONS: WEIGHT - 6.6 LB LENGTH - 43.3" AMMUNITION - PELLETS OF ALL SHAPES CALIBER - .22 TRIGGER PULL - 3.74 LBSIGHTS:FIBER OPTICS - CONTRASTING FIBER COLORS IN THE FRONT AND REAR SIGHT FRONT SIGHT - RED 0.40 MILLIMETERS IN DIAMETER REAR SIGHT - YELLOW 0.60 MILLIMETERS IN DIAMETER REAR SIGHT - ADJUSTABLE MICROMETRIC FOR BOTH WINDAGE AND ELEVATIONSTOCK: STOCK - FINE SELECTED GRADE OF BEECH HARDWOOD BUTT PLATE: VENTILATED RUBBER FOR RECOIL ABSORPTION CHEEKPIECE - RAISED MONTECARLO CHECKERING - LASER CARVED Heres some pictures of my Pellet Air rifle. The Gamo 440 .22 cal 2nd picture Stock The scope. The piece of wood i shot (front of the board) The rear of the board. The pellets litterly made the wood explode. I had to calibrate the scope, because it was really inaccurate, so i had to calibrate it.Which i finaly got it sighted in, and its really accurate, and dead on.It was $226 for the whole thing, the gun and scope. It also has fiber optic gun sight, which looks really nice. Also, the recoil is big.I wasn't prepared for the recoil when i shot it, and i nearly dropped it.Its was like shooting a .22 long and the gun kicked back.It was also really loud, and i went deaf kinda, which was pretty wierd, and i was expecting it to just make alittle 'woof' instead of a BANG!.Its actually like shooting a .22 long. I might have more pictures later.

It was a lot, but it was well worth it!
SKULLS_Viper 0 Posted August 10, 2002 I just took this picture not more then a min ago, but this is what it looks like when you break the barrel to reload. You have to be pretty strong to break this barrel. And you dont have to pump the gun up. (my camera doesnt take good pictures at night, only during the day time it works perfectly.)
SKULLS_Viper 0 Posted August 10, 2002 heh, i just cleaned my air rifle, and boy, was it dirty! It was more dirtyier then a rimfire .22 cal, shooting longs.I just used gun cleaning solvent or the Hoppes Nitro powder solvent No.9(i use it on all my guns) and the cleaning kit that came with my air rifle, and the little cleaning strips.Had to use about 8 strips, tell it finally came out clean. DarkLight 0 Posted August 10, 2002 Nice, i've always liked pellet guns, a couple years ago my dad wanted to buy me one but he decided not to do it. Perhaps i might get one in a couple years... Can you "zoom in" with your scope?

-TU--33ker 0 Posted August 10, 2002 i also like shooting with airrifles. i use a german "Feinwerkbau" P70, it's O2 operated. im in an "airrifle-club" and i've been in several competitions with this rifle. my best result was 300 of 400 pts. My brother is shooting in the same club but his rifle is not as "hi-tec" as mine mine is similar to the rifle on the image but it's an older model My brother uses this kinda rifle

DarkLight 0 Posted August 10, 2002 Damn that sux, i went to a marcket about WW2 a while ago where i could buy a x3 - x7 scope, price was about € 15 so that's not much. It was a scope used by a German sniper and it looked very nice when you looked through it. I must confess that it is pretty weird when you know that 60 years ago a German sniper watched through it too while shooting ppl. Oh well, € 15 isn't a lot, next time i go to that marcket i'm gonna buy the scope...
SKULLS_Viper 0 Posted August 11, 2002 Theres the scope caps, the scope, then a scope stop, which helps keep the scope from slidding back on the rail, because the recoil is huge. Proof of purchase. The gun sight.(i dont have it properly aimed.) 2nd picture The saftey on... and the saftey off. The back of the paper target i used to calibrate the scope with Front view of it. Close up of the center. As you can see, i went from bottom right, to top left, then finaly center with the adjusting.(note how close i have the groups, shows how good a shot i am , plus some of the holes i got 3 pellets in, but it only looks like 2 pellets hit. I even pulled out a pellet that had anthor pellet on its back, and it was basically molded into it. ) What the fiber optic sight looks like.(front)
SKULLS_Viper 0 Posted August 11, 2002 Tomarrow or Monday, i should have more pitures.Im going to the moutains to shoot it, so i'll have plenty to show.
Renagade 0 Posted August 11, 2002 Heheh u got a funny cd style case for flashpoint, over here it was packaged in a dvd case. The rifle itself looks pretty good even though it doesnt shoot the pellets as fast as a .177 they wont be deflected as easily by wind or slow down as easily but have less flat a trajectory. SKULLS_Viper 0 Posted August 11, 2002 The .22 cal is, in my apinion better then the .177, even though its slower. The .22 cal is 2x more accurate then a .177, and Expands, or mushrooms 2x more then a .177.Even some .22 cal pellets penitrate 2x more then a .177 .The Gamo 440 comes in .177 @ 1000 fps, or the .22 cal @750 fps, and i choose the .22. 750 fps is nothing to laugh about. It basically hits the board when i pull the trigger back, and i imagin it basically hits the board before i can even pull the trigger . As you seen, a .22 cal does a lot of damage, seen here. My friends 1000 fps .177 would only get lodged in the board, where as mine, as you can see, shredded the board, and literly made the board explode. But 1000 fps would be nice, because it gets to its target 250 fps faster.
Renagade 0 Posted August 11, 2002 I think at range the .177 would slow down quicker and not hit with as much power as a .

A .177 every 20 yards it slows down 150 fps, and after it hits 40 yards, it slows down to 200 fps every 20 yards etc... a .22 at 30 yards only still loses 100 fps etc... SKULLS_Viper 0 Posted August 11, 2002 Man i wish i could get this! shoots .22 at 800 fps.And for about $800! And uses a scuba tank to power it.
