Does bush control the media?

Recommended Posts

What's the point of this thread??

So they are making a little news on some kidnappings.  The media always hypes up stupid things like this.  I'll admit it might have been a bit much for Bush to make commentary, but he just wants to appear concerned.

But I remember spending a whole morning watching news updates on a train that ran over a pile of logs.  And all those news people were acting so concerned. They kept on bringing updates.  But it was stupid because it was no big deal.

Then they got the train station operator on the line, and were asking him questions like "Is it pretty bad?".  And the old man would reply, "Yeah, I guess.  Its kinda bad"    And then they were like "Oh Jeez, We hope everything turns out Ok.  Was anyone hurt?"  And the old man would reply  "Um, no, nobody hurt."

This went on for quite some time.  Anyways the point is that the media will try to make a story out of anything.  Its up to the viewer to decide if it is a really anything or not.

I dont watch TV news anymore because its soooo biased, unreliable and dumbed down with flashy slogans and sensationalism.  The most reliable news you can get is in the papers.

This is because more educated people read the paper, and just average Joes like to flick on CNN to feel like intelligent and informed.

I'm sorry, but seeing the News use "scary" music to add effect to a piece of news is enough to make me sick.

only media worth reading is on the internet, at least for the normal people who aren't too stupid to make a decision about what they like/dislike, care/don't care about.

From an objective point of view i'd have to say CNN has got to be one of the worst "news" channels. if you compared news to food, the best news is the spicy foods, which you have to fight to digest, the worst news (CNN) is like baby food, which is spoon fed to you.

no, corporations control Bush. Just look at his legislative record, and you will see that he is completely beholden to industrial and commercial corporations

"Secret plans from the US agency, CIA. Documents indicate that the danish rightwing ultra-Christian man, Moses Hansen, is being sent to Iraq to provocate an Iraqish action, which then would be the reason for Bush to send of 52.000 Tanks, 102.000 soldiers, 12 Special corps, 8 Naval cruisers and 4.000 bombers. It is also heard that Bush arranged a deal with Osama Bin Laden, which is to ship 48.000 tons of Opium from various fields in Afghanistan, to feed the US-soldiers during this democratic war against evilness.

CNN has allready bought the license of the war against Terrorism and the evil."

LOL. What a crackpot quote. smile.gif Where did you get it from? smile.gif

Bush doesnt control the media. Nothing controls the media. And that is part of the problem. In a feeding frenzy, the media will grab onto anything remotely newsworthy and froth up public interest until everything seems like the end of the world. And thus the problem. It's like the news media constantly needs something bigger and more important than the last story...and that just doesnt happen. So they hype things that really shouldnt be hyped.

Sadly, the Bush administration is happy to grab onto anything they can to distract people from what may happen come fall/winter.

The truth is:

Moses Hansen is Osama Bin Laden:

For non-danish: The caption on Moses' shirt is: "Jesus is coming soon"

I completely agree with you Warin, just look at my last post.

But Bush is definitely following all the corporations around trying to put them first.  Which I find to be very disturbing since the corporations are only interested in their pocketbooks while at the same time helping to destroy the natural world.    "Dig in Alaska"  Jeez.   Arn't we past the times of searching out newer and bigger energy stores, and now into being more efficent?
