Multiplayer crash to desktop / kicked off

Hi,

So i am mainly playing arma 3 multiplayer on a CTI ( capture the island ) mod in the EUTW server.

For some reason sometime my game crashed to desktop, i can be driving or shooting it's really random ...

I ask someone if it says something special in the game when my game crashed and he said :

"Player (name) kicked off, Steam ticket check failed: (null)"

And now that I am mostly playing on this server, I see A LOT of players getting kicked the same way, sometimes it's one player in 3 hours and sometimes it's like 8 players at the same time !

So after playing awhile on this server, i met admins and ask them if they were aware of the issue and they don't know where it comes from

I played a bit on different servers i didn't notice the same issue so i would like to know if, you guys see this also on servers you are playing and if you know how to fix it and / or where it comes from ( server ? script ? or maybe steam ?! )

yes this problem is still on my server...... what is that for a probleam??? help pls

That issue is with steams authentication check.

By any chance do you notice steam gets occasionally set into "offline mode"? Or are you trying to run Arma 3 outside of steam with a launcher?

When steam gets set into offline mode and a game you're playing online calls for an authentication check, steam can't send or receive and it times out returning the null error.

Although that error is also seen by admins anytime someones game client crashes and your character is still in game standing still lagging out. Steam sends a ticket check to see if you're still connected. It send sends back a null since you're game is not running and disconnects you from the server.

So that error could really have nothing to do with your issue. Simply a message stating to the server that your game crashed and it's removing your player from the server.

No i'm not using any launcher i only use steam to launch the game, about the "offline mode" I also saw yesterday a post from someone I don't know where talking about this and now i'm like checking every 3 minutes when i'm in game with shitf+tab if i'm offline but i'm always online when it's happening (or maybe offline few seconds ... so i can't see it)

Also i don't know if it really comes from the fact steam set into offline mod and can't send authentication checks because like i show in the screen it's like 5 or more players instantly sometime ...

This is a really weird and annoying issue and hopefully it will be fix soon !

If you're not loosing your connection to steam and staying online then the problem is liking not caused by steam.

Rather your game is crashing for any number of reasons. Do you get any messages saying your display driver has recovered or any notification that pops up after the game crashes? Do you monitor your temps while gaming you could be overheating which would explain the random times for the crashes to occur.

You might not have a stable clock speed for cpu or gpu, try running a stress test for each such as Prime95 and Furmark. Make sure to monitor your heat as they will stress and bring the temps up rather quickly.

If you're not seeing the same problem on other servers, it might be the server is lagging out and causing you and others to be kicked occasionally. It could also be the mission file the server is using, the coding in it might not be too well optimized causing it to crash. Does the server you play on play any other missions?

I've had (and seen others as well) this problem lots of times past week when trying MP on stable build. My observation is that it happens when the server are crowded, sometimes I get disconnected while in the lobby, sometimes after 1-10 minutes in game.

I have no PhysX3_x86.dll crashes so it may be related to something else as well?!

Just to add I've experience this issue both in current stable build as well as in the latest dev build and it all started when we changed from Alpha to Beta. A bt surpriced not more are complaining about this since it's killing MP for me at least :(

are u sure its not Physx.dll?

just look in your RPT File, im 99% sure you have the same error

I did search my rpt but it's deleted since then. Will check rpt again and report back next time I get kicked!

Edit: After reading thru your linked thread and FT I'm pretty sure that the problem I had is another one. This since my game does not CTD, I get disconnected from the server and back to the server listing page with a "Connection Dropped" or similar message.

When playing last weekend I saw tons of "Player (name) kicked off, Steam ticket check failed: (null)" messages from others players and assumed aother saw the same when I was disconnected.
