AI mods

Recommended Posts

So I've looked on the net and can't seem to find ai improvement mods for arma 3. Do the ones for arma 2 still work and do they get installed the same way?

Also how do you use the new sniper class in the editor? Ive tried choosing marksman but get a standard looking rifle and no ghillie suit.

Thanks.

the sniper is in its own class... i.e. BLUFOR, MEN (SNIPER) and there wont be any AI mods until the devs have finished with the AI tweaking.

hope this helps

Also you will have to set AI precision to 0.85-0.9 if you want AI to hit anything with current version of ASR AI

No need to edit config, just move sliders in difficulty setting to ~0.9 it will sort stuff out.

Also I personally recommend you to open ASR config in userconfig folder (note it should go into userconfig/asr-ai/... folder, Robalo has made a mistake in the archive) and change smoke chance from 0.5 to 0.25

Otherwise smoke grenades will destroy your FPS

Ok thanks. I'm assuming installation instructions for arma 2 still apply for arma 3? Are there more mods as well to improve ai? Does zeus still work?

Correct, the modfolder method still works, though the line (i.e. "-mod=@ASR_AI") would now go in the "Set Launch Options" field of Arma 3's Steam properties, if you're not using the "Expansions" method from the main menu options menu (i.e. putting the modfolders into the Arma 3 subfolder of the My Documents folder, then manually enabling or disabling each and then restarting the client to set your choices).

Note that both of the Marksmen were meant to be designated marksmen, although the BLUFOR Marksman's MXM is more comparable to a SAM-R/SDM-R while the OPFOR Marksman gets an EBR in 7.62 x 51 mm. Unfortunately there's no announced plan for a "M24-style" precision rifle to complement the anti-materiel rifles that the BLUFOR and OPFOR Snipers carry.
