Some glitches that are dating back from original OPF, will they be fixed?

Hello Devs, Community,

Please no tl;dr comments, thank you.

First of all before I go all negative and people think I am just here to rant I must say that I love this game!

And I think you are doing great job on the alpha, it's an alpha, yet it's already playing much better (for me at least) than ARMA 2,

you added allot of cool features (scuba is one of my favorites) and in general the game is awesome, as always :)

i bought OPF when it just published in 2001 and I immediately fell in love, since then I bought all your games (except ARMA 1 and PMC).

So I must say I am a bit disappointed that these bugs / glitches did not disappear during these 12 years.

I know it's an Alpha, and I know it's not the final product but I have a fear inside me that these will stay in the full release.

I think all these glitches are related to each other in someway or another, so lets start

binoculars / range finder

while changing a stance (crouch > prone or any other to any other) and the binoculars / range finder are in hands,

The player will switch to the rifle, only then change the stance, and then change back to binoculars.

By the way, in my opinion you should make the binoculars like in ACE, where you have to right click to look through it, much better.

While prone and the binoculars / range finder are in hands,

And you switch to a handgun, the player will first switch to his main rifle and only then to the handgun.

handgun switch to main rifle while prone

While prone and the handgun is in hands,

And you switch to your main rifle, the player will stand up, go back to prone and only then switch to his main rifle.

Terrain, stances and general stances inconsistencies

Still, nothing has changed in that regard,

I will crawl on the ground and all of a sudden my player will stand up because of a little rock, this is unacceptable in a game like this in my opinion.

I will run, fall 1 meter from a rock a wall or whatever, and my player decides on it's own to go from crouching to standing (not sure if this is a new thing only in ARMA 3)

And of course we still get stuck on rocks way too often, but maybe that is too much to ask, i know it's a huge map and going through every little rock is a problem.

Except for getting stuck on rocks which I am aware that is not easy to fix, because it will require someone going over every bolder in the game

I really don't understand why the other glitches were not fixed for the past 12 years, while it's not game breaking in some people's eyes, I just don't get it.

it's really annoying when you die because your player decide to stand up all of a sudden or switch between all his gear 100 times until you can shoot.

PLEASE, PLEASE FIX IT

He made his point so clear and i cant think any different ..

I think we all agree that all this bugs should be fixed . I advice the thread starter to post tickets in the arma 3 feedback tracker.

As the Arma pvp community grows all this gonna find their way to the tracker , many of those bugs i think still exist because the coop community is much bigger than the pvp and some "bugs" have tremendous impact in pvp but not so big in coop + mission where players can live with them.

I started posting in the feedback tracker and I am happy to report that some of the issues are there already.

But I haven't looked for all of them yet, will do so and write as much as I can.

Though I know PVP will benefit from these fixes more than COOP players, just wanted to let you know I play mostly COOP ;)

+1, I have hope that Smookie will save us from this abomination of extra animations!. Or why cant i lower my Binos?... Have to use ACE?

another 12 year old glitch/bug: with trackir looking arround while you´r in aiming mode you can look into your headless shoulders :-P

The game's arbitrary 'standing up' is and always has been a serious PITA and I have died as a consequence of it on numerous occasions.

I am happy to see I am not alone in this, AND that the feedback tracker is filled with related bugs.

I am actually getting more optimistic since I see they are getting some attention in the feedback tracker.
