Need a good server host which would work well with:

I am looking for a server host which would provide a lag free gaming experience for a large server which Canadians and people from the united kingdom could enjoy lag free with loads of action going on ingame. I would prefer it to be as cheap as possible.

I would also like to be able to allow various client side mods for players who want to us them like shacktac's HUD.

Weve got lots of Canadians and Germans/Austrians in our group so I can vouch for our dedi, a solid stable dedi server with low ping and hardly any desync.

How ever theres lots to do if you want it to be the best, from mission choice and design to config optimization, its all there to be worked on.

You can't get singular servers atm (e.g. http://www.gameservers.com/) as its an alpha, the only way to get a server is via having your own dedi server which this is (Hetzner), otherwise im pretty sure you'll have to wait a while.

Best way to get your own server if there is a large group of you is via the dedi server route, of course you could "rent" server space off of someone, but thats always risky.

edit: did a quick forum search and found this american hoster http://survivalservers.com/ try these guys.

Just seconding what Dale has said.. we also have a Hetzner server and have no complaints whatsoever.

We also have a US-based server from https://www.datashack.net/

For cheaper you'll have to rent a slotted server which is OK but you don't have control over the machine and I'm not sure about fancy stuff like DayZ or MSO where you'd need database access as well.

If you cant afford a dedicated server then try looking into vps or check out www.markmods.com and www.vilayer.com both of which are offering arma hosting services on both stable and Dev build however be warned that your more likely to encounter lagg issues with game servers unlike having your own dedicated server
