Longinius 1 Posted July 24, 2002 "And even if it hits it won't end the human race, it's not that big." Might not end the human race but it could be the end of our civilization.
Sadico 1 Posted July 24, 2002 Unlikely. It could destroy a continent though.

I vote we build a massive trans-continental network of tennis racquets with which to deflect the cosmic abomination!
Sadico 1 Posted July 24, 2002 Nah, let's build a huge railgun on the Moon!!

Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted July 24, 2002 Neo, you got to pay me for publishing that picture. Well at least if it doesnt hit us it will hit some of the satelites that fly in the stratosphere. So you might miss out some of your favourite satelite porn-channels for a few days and probably your GPS might not work. So if you intend to cross the Sahara that week with a container of water and GPS, better....... no, I mean, have a nice trip! Â
foxer 0 Posted July 24, 2002 This is really not a big deal.IT's goiing be the one that we didn't see coming hit us. Tex -USMC- 0 Posted July 24, 2002 I think an asteroid would be awesome, especially if it didnt hit anywhere near me I think especially if it hit in the middle of the ocean and caused a massive tsunami, a la Deep Impact, that would be awesome. Especially since I live 600+ miles from and 5000 feet above the coast
Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted July 24, 2002 Due to the originality and the special character of this thread I award it with the: Noone else would have created a similar thread as Mr. Wobble

Oligo 1 Posted July 25, 2002 An asteroid of this size is probably an Extinction Level Event or an ELE or affectionately "Ellie". Global climate change will knock us off the box. We're all doomed.
Paratrooper 0 Posted July 25, 2002 The thing is moving at 18 miles per second! What can be done, if it does line up with Earth?

The continent were it hits is fucked, though.
LauryThorn 0 Posted July 30, 2002 Now the scientists have "ruled out the impact" from this asteroid. Read more Maybe they secretly sent Bruce Willis or Ralph Wiggum to punch the asteroid.
