Jon_CB 1 Posted May 1, 2013 (edited) Since last few day i got serious problem in OA multiplayer that fps drops, lag spikes, freezes as soon as i join any server until rage quit . It isn't happen neither in singleplayer/empty mp missions i hosted nor Arma 2 and any other games. Only for this game(OA) and just for a week. Before the problem i was playing the game about a year with pretty good fps. I can't understand, there is no reason to make this happen. I didnt changed/installed/uninstalled/updated anything on my pc. I just slept, went work, and at night i started the game and boom, game was trolling me. One day game works good but other day wrecked. It's not make sense. Can anyone please help me to understand and solve the problem? Here is the tips may helpfull - All the things are up to date (game/windows/drivers/battle-eye etc) - Scanned with 2 other antivirus program and there is no threat - Deleted each folder in C:/.../Steam/.../Arma and from the doc folder and re installed the game and dlcs (Arma 2/OA/Baf/Pmc) - At the players section ("P" button, which is shows players and pings) my ping changes around 60 to infinity and Desync: 100000 while others' are normal. Always the red/orange chain is there and fps drops to 1. This is happening every 5-10 sec and sometimes it completely freezes. Otherwise it's pretty normal (between spike waves). - Singlepalyer works good - Multiplayer missions that i hosted work good - Both empty and has player servers are not working good. - Generally playing in TAW and 7cav coop servers and some random wasteland servers in vanilla. So they are all Batte-eye supported. Edited May 2, 2013 by Jon_CB typo
Jon_CB 1 Posted May 2, 2013 (edited) Solved. First delete the config folder each Arma2 and OA and then start Arma2(it creates new config folder), get in multiplayer, check and quit. Then do same thing with Arma2OA. It has to be in order. Nope, its not stable. Still looking for solutions Edited May 3, 2013 by Jon_CB update
oxmox 73 Posted May 3, 2013 Try this.....this is just for better performance add to your shortcut the following: -nosplash -emptyworld -winxp -malloc=tbb3malloc_bi -maxmem=2048 Make sure that AA Anisotropic, Shadows and post procession is off or at minimum ingame. Video Ram settings at default. Find out if some of your cores are parked, un park it if neccessary: http://www.coderbag.com/Programming-C/Disable-CPU-Core-Parking-Utility An old trick: Run Windows Media Player in the background
domokun 515 Posted May 3, 2013 what spec is your PC? what are you advanced video settings? in the meantime, try some of these tweaks: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?85124-ArmA2-OA-%28low%29-performance-issues&p=2081466#post2081466
RobDeBob 10 Posted May 3, 2013 Disable Windows Firewall, or any other firewall that you may have. If this solves your problem, create an exception for BattlEye/Arma in said firewall.
Jon_CB 1 Posted May 4, 2013 (edited) Thank you for your responds, but i dont think performance is the problem because im getting good fps unless lag spikes. Played about a year with all AA, post process, shadows, atoc, etc Off in minimum 30 fps without any problem until last week. -When the spike waves come, at the players screen ("P" button, which is shows players and pings) In example, my Ping: 300-500-900 and Desync: 100000 while others' are normal. Always the red/orange chain is showing there and fps drops to 1. This is happening every 5-10 sec. Otherwise it's pretty normal, both fps and ping/desync values are normal and i can even move :) (between each spike waves). I think the problem is here.. Tried http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/basic.cfg#Networking_Tuning_Options and http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/arma2.cfg#Generic_config however nothing changed. Intel i7 870 2.93GHz AMD Radeon HD 6570 2gb 2gb Ram Win7 64bit Btw, disabling the Firewall did not solve the problem An old trick: Run Windows Media Player in the background howcome can it helps?
