Mission/Campaign not loaded when inside the @mod folder?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

in the @CRW2\ folder I have seen also a campaign and missions folder. Not sure if it was me who put them into @CWR2\ or if it came via SIX.

So then I thought those missions and campaigns only get loaded if the mod is loaded at Arma startup, which would make sense because CWR2 missions won't run without @CWR2 loaded anyway.

I started reorganising many missions/campaigns into the respective mod folders, so there is e.g.:

%OAfolder%\@carragdubh\Addons\...

%OAfolder%\@carragdubh\Missions\...

%OAfolder%\@carragdubh\Campaigns\...

And then I realized, even if I loaded @carraigdubh, the missions/campaigns were not shown.

Looks like my idea was wrong and Arma does not show missions inside mod folders?

TIA

Yes, you can put campaign files in mod folders, for example:

d:\arma 2\@cwr2\campaigns\resistance.pbo

But if you put missions in @mod folder they will not work. Put missions for example from cwr 2 in:

d:\arma 2\missions\cwr2\mission1.pbo etc. You can create as many subfolders in missions folder as you want. For example: cwr2coop-you can put coop that can be played in SP, I44,I44coop,Unsung etc.

When you put missions in folders you can find them very easy wenn you launch game. For example you launch Invasion 1944 you go to SP missions menu and you know that in folder I44 you have missions for this mod.

Ps: sometimes campaigns dont show in campaign menu if you put them in..\@mod\campaigns\campaign.pbo in this case you must put campaign file in standard ..\arma 2\campaigns now they will work for sure.

OK thanks for clearing this up. Already using subfolders, but well these missions are always show and it would be nicer from Arma, if modfolder missions would also get loaded :)

Totally agree, I've been asking for modfolders to support Missions and MPMissions for ages so that we can keep things tidy and manageable but there hasn't been any response from BIS that I'm aware of :(

I didn't realise that modfolders can already support Campaigns but if it only works sometimes that's not much good.

I'm not sure now but if you release campaign in folder (like all my campaigns) they dont show in campaign menu when you put them in @mod\campaigns. But im not 100% sure about that now. Campaigns pack as pbo files work without problem when you put them in @mod\campaigns\campaign.pbo

Well that's something at least, now hopefully they'll extend it to missions ;)

Very true. As tom said, at least with Missions we can use subfolders but MP Missions becomes a complete mess and I think is sorted in game by island, which isn't that helpful.
