[MPMission] Fully functional Wasteland - GoT Wasteland (v1.08)

So.. I decided to spend a day of tinkering with the 404Games v1.06 Arma3 Wasteland mission.

I had Allready had made a stripped version of it before (with all non functional parts removed reducing the missionsize to 980Kb).

But the real challenge was offcourse to get wasteland to its full functionality again.

I've had to improvise alot due to the lack of items/objects in the current alpha version. But after some browsing through the cfgvehicles and testing i think i got a nice working concept together :)

The original creators of the mission are de devteam of 404games.co.uk (all credits go to them offcourse)

[Added] New Sidemission (Mini Convoy) Original MainMission by Sanjo (i just made a smaller sidemission version of his source)

[Added] Posibility to move and airlift small bunkers

[Added] A few interesting baseparts to be taken from all over the map

[Added] Food,Water,Fuel sources asswell as the refuel option

[Changed] Starting money to 200.

[Changed] Some of the item values/worths in the gunstore.

[Changed] Mission start time from 12:15 to 19:15 to create a better atmosphere

[Fixed] Fixed the Sound Counter error on first spawn.

[Fixed] Re-Added the LightArmed-Vehicle mission. (somehow it was gone when i forked the code)

Keep up the good work JoSchaap! Me and my buddies often play on your server, its the best server around, and you seem to develop Wasteland faster than the original developers of Wasteland. :)

i have to correct you on that, ive just been looking into how they developped wasteland for arma2 and learned from that, they are my mentors in such way of speaking.

404 games is focussing on their arma2 mod since arma3 is so limited in its content. and i just like to improvise :)

Still curious on how this admins.sqf file works... Where exactly do I put it? What Id goes in it?

I've tried running this on my server and it doesn't work... Server comes up but when I load into it I just sit at some screen where it shows my name and ping.. Nothing to click on so I'm just stuck there... I've asked for support previously in this thread and haven't received anything back.. Are you going to support this are am I to assume that this mission is as is and does not work?

Thanks for this. Doesnt work out of the box, but after some editing, seems to work fine.

That's cool that you got it to work... Can you share what you had to edit in order to get it to working. I'm thinking I have the same issue you did. Seems like its unable to find the mission...

Any help would be appreciated as there doesn't seem to be any support from the OP.

The mission is designed for use on a dedicated server, i have no experience running it as a normal mission :)

I'll reply as soon as i can, family does come first though ;)

Understandable... I got both versions, stripped and full, by adding ".Stratis" to the end of the folder name. After doing that it's been working great.. Will try the new Rev tonight.

I'm investigating some issues with r3f logistics (the addon that allows movement of baseparts/objects) it became unstable since last update. since this is a 3rd party addon, i'd have to investigate this.

Also since alot of players ask this in PM, ill just post it here.

the weather, starttime, season of my version is abit different, it starts right before sundown, weather is much cloudier and more windy and its also colder.

This is all influenced by the date/time/weather blocks of code in the mission.sqm

just a comparission

mine: (cloudy, dark, late)

I've tried adding some of my clan mates ID's to the admin.sqf file and can't seem to get this to work.. Is this feature working? Can you explain this in further detail?

sure :)

the ID you need is their profile id (numbers) found in arma3's > options > profiles > edit

open up server/admins.sqf in notepad for example and add their id's to the proper access level

Moderator (kick/ban/spectate), Administrator (also check vehicles and access to teleport), ServerAdmin (All acces including debug functions)

make sure you ommit the ids in "" signs (just look at how my id's are in there)

once done re-pbo the file and run it. if done correctly they can press U ingame to access the mission's adminfunctions without login as admin on the server itself

if you dont want to edit the file you can just use #login youradminpasswordhere in chat and press the U key twice to give yourself ServerAdmin access

After setting this up I can pull up the admin panel. My question is how do you kick / ban from this panel? I don't see this available.. I only have my id in the admins.sqf file under serveradministrator.. Does my id have to be put under all the other functions as well such as moderators and administrators in order to be able to kick and ban from the panel? I just have my id in under serveradministrator and when in the panel when I look at the players if I highlight one my game locks up on me.. Is supposed to happen?

kicking and banning is still done through the game itself using the # commands :)the misison admin allows you to spectate, slay, check gear asswell as unlocking teamswitch and undoing teamkill punishments

you only need to add an id once. so not at every level.

i have not yet experienced any locking on the player menu yet (sometimes the gear function does crash your game but thats because its a straight port from arma2)

also keep an eye on the github for changes such as todays fix for the flare ammo in the gunstore :)

Hey good job on your work with this, seems like your doing well. I just wanted to ask (If i'm allowed) am i able to change some details in the files, such as the welcome message and that hint that appears saying "JoSchaap wuz here" when using admin menu. I just tried changing some already and i wanted to add my own hint like you have yours. It's just they was still there after i editing lines in the files and re-done the .pbo, the .pbo was your ready made one so i kinda already assume that's the problem. But i'm new to this and just want to learn how to do stuff :) thanks and keep up the good work.

Yeah i did find that, but it's not changing at all and remains the same, also seems like some hack or something is happening. When i had some people join earlier a message displayed saying something like "Thought you could get rid of me? Stop playing and go pester BIS, VE Mute 4" Something like that. I was thrown in the air and just kept going up and down. The message still persisted after i had even gone to the game's main menu, not the multiplayer list.
