Mines and the mine detector

Anyone figured out how the mine detector is supposed to work? Maybe it's not fully functional yet since having it in your gear or not made no difference but maybe I'm missing something...

A bit curious how the new AP mines will/may change some of the infantry tactics in future PvsP games and that "Bouncing Betty" surely is a really nasty thing.

Well, once you near a mine you will see an Icon above it...

Did not see any icons despite being near AP mines but that could be since I disabled HUD etc. in the difficulties settings. I did hear my avatar announce he spotted mines but he did that also without carrying a mine detector?

Yeah. As long as you have it in your inventory, mines will get a red triangle HUD mark on them when you get close enough.

Thanks for clarifying will test again with HUD enabled. Maybe a icon/marking on map could be added so mine detector is usefull also with HUD disabled....
