johncage 30 Posted March 18, 2013 hi in this video at 7.22 you can see bouncing betty, what is interesting is that the planting locations seems to involve dynamic land deformation. i think this will be good for players who do not use mine threat indicators or don't equip mine detectors. this may also lead into more eod involved gameplay. with the way the road looks, i don't think this is a natural terrain feature. just wanted to show this and see what everyone else thinks. nimrod123 11 Posted March 18, 2013 looks to me as if the mine wasn't in the odd patch bit slightly further up the road, so i think it was just under the texture of the road and invisible.
johncage 30 Posted March 19, 2013 you're right, the road deformity was just a coincidental feature. the mine was stuck near the bit where the road meets the grass: imagine mission involving clearing mine from a road with camouflaged mines like such, will be very nice. mr_centipede 31 Posted March 19, 2013 Place the minefield module in grassy area in the editor and good luck locating them. Blew myself quite a lot last night. And a lot of AI too. The AI if they have an explosive specialist in the group, they will be aware of the mines and try to stay clear of it... sometimes unsuccessfully, most of the time they come out alive. johncage 30 Posted March 19, 2013 thanks for the advice, didn't know there was a module. sounds like good challenge. maybe the problem is that some mines have too high activation radius? like when you crawl to disable a mine, one next to it activates? dunno, but still fancy a mine-related mission
