MajorLeeArmed 1 Posted March 26, 2013 Pitty,You're missing one of the most amazing experiences of games in general and especially in ARMA... Playing WITH friends. I only have one friend that plays ARMA and we are mostly online at different times but when we do get together we voice chat through Steam and do short co-op missions together and that brings a whole extra level of fun. You don't need loads of mates or to join a clan to get into the MP aspects. I've started creating my own 2 man co-op missions. Also I'm surprised the OP plays Battlefield solo as you get nowhere in that game without help from squad mates. 99% of the time I get a squad that runs in opposite directions. Especially in conquest where people are coming coming at you from all sides. That's a game that can ONLY be enjoyed with friends.
SavageCDN 231 Posted March 26, 2013 The best fun you can have in any military shooter is BFBC2, but Arma is a sim, expect it to be serious. I know the point you are trying to make.. but serious is perhaps not the right word. :o
machineabuse 11 Posted March 27, 2013 Voice Coms does add a huge layer to the ArmA experience that cannot be understated. Personally I say get a mic and set it up for when you need it, but don't feel an obligation to use it. Last night I was playing a game of Headhunters with 3 strangers on a pub and all of two sentences were said in half an hour but the team gelled well enough that we all fell into lockstep with each other despite the silence. That in itself really complimented the "silent professional" feel of the mission  But better to have and not need than to need and not have!
viper[cww] 14 Posted March 27, 2013 Sure you can have fun, but you're cutting in half the fun you can have with using a mic.
EDcase 87 Posted March 27, 2013 Don't you hate it when you get killed half way through a sentence...? Well, you don't get that with a mic;)
