Possible to have fun without microphone?

Yep saw that video before buying the game, it helped a lot in clearing some things up and hyping me. As for the realism, well I guess what i wanted to say that only in Driving simulations (cars, planes, helicopters) you actually do all the things as in the real thing, you are in the same position, sitting, you have the steering wheel, the pedals, practically the only thing missing is the G-forces and the smell.. you don't actually run around in your room in Arma, that's what i meant :) As for BF4, yeah, they really destroyed the game and the brand with that stupid DLC policy and 'Premium' stuff..

Possible to have fun without microphone?

Cheers people, appreciated. Now I just need to hope that BF4 is a flop, cause I can't be playing two shooters at the same time :)
  3. Atm i'm getting scared off by the 'seriousness' of this game. I'm a big fan of first person shooter genre, and generally the military/special forces stuff, but i'm starting to wonder if this is actually for me. I'm beeing told that it's almost impossible or pointless to play this game without communicating with other people, and i'm not that kind of gamer who likes to talk online, just can't be bothered, and i usually play in late hours so it makes it even more difficult. This level of reaism and dedication only makes sense for me in the driving simulations, cause you do all the same moves, you're in the same sitting position, and you have very similiar device like in the real car. So, hard and real equals more fun, but in a shooter, i don't know.. Right now my favorite type of shooter is Battlefield series, much fun to be had and you can pop in and stay as long as you can, be it 20 minutes or 2 hours. Here, it seems you just can't pop in like that, whenever you like, you have to have a 'clan' and do all the serious stuff, which, like i said, i can only justify in a good racing simulator. With all beeing said, can i fit in somewhere in this game?
  4. There's a "No Blur" addon on Armaholic, it kills the blur while retaining post-processing effects. But some servers don't allow it unfortunately.
  5. I was a member of a shooting range for a long time thank you :) and fired quite a few handguns, fired an AK in military etc.. Yes the sound is awesome and very realistic, it should be loud, but also you should be able to hear some footsteps and wind etc, without having neighboors calling the police..
  6. I've noticed that the game can be very quiet, almost muted, until you start firing and then everyone in the house and neighboors notice it. I like to hear birds and my player gasping and stuff, but then the weapons are way way too loud, i like them loud but then it's annoyingly loud. Just thought i write that down, could be that someone else already mentioned it, in that case apologies..

So confusing for a new player..

That's the most sattisfying thing for me right now, and what's the deal with multiplayer and huge frame drops? It can't be that all of you people enjoy this 15-20fps experience, and it also can't be that all of you have i7, Titan cards and 32gb of ram.
  8. This multiplayer is very confusing for me right now, never played Arma before and it's really not user friendly. I pop in multiplayer matches and have no idea what to do, what's the objective, who's the enemy, nothing.. I just randomly roam and get killed. Is this just the way it is, or am I missing something? Any help is apreciated..

Wtf, I didn't know these mods and addons are just for singleplayer, can't enter any MP game with this.. :j:

FHQ M4 for Arma 3 (Prerelease)

Great mod, thanks. Have an issue though as i get the message that some texture is missing 'remington...' Hope you add a different sound in later versions and a black holo sight.. http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/2083/m4arma.jpg (253 kB) (253 kB)
