Nice gamemode, working on some updates?

Any bugs to report? Or something that needs to be changed?

Haven't tried out yet, but i suppose VIP/Bodyguards can go off road?

Maybe you could expand your description a little bit? Do opfor have armed vehicles or rpgs?

What exactly is he blufors task? Survive for a specific period of time?

Missions sounds like fun and i'll try to let it run on the "German Ballerbude" the next few days.

Yeah they can go off road but opfor still know their whereabouts on the map (markers), no armed vehicles.

OPFOR have 1 RPG, can choose between weapons w/ different attachments and a few mines/explosives. Weapons respawn every 5th minute.

BLUFOR have standard rifles with no attachments, VIP is unarmed.

BLUFOR (Bodyguards) needs to transport the VIP (using hunters) to the different objectives so that he can complete them. OPFOR needs to assassinate the VIP. BLUFOR wins when all objectives are completed.

Just played the mission on our server.

Was very funny, although most of opfor left after a nice ambush at Camp Rogain (?). You definitely need a good vip and some organized opfors.

I'd suggest to increase the times, the VIP has to stay at the objectives. I think it is like 1 min at Camp Rogain, 30 seconds at the helo, 2 mins at the public presentation and maybe half a minute of talk with the general.

As Blufor can easily go offroad (unless you want to role play and just follow roads), the objectives are the main attack targets for opfor and you might give them a little bit more time.

Plus some opfor complained, that the vip map marker didn't always refresh properly.

Still overall it was a very funny experience!

Glad to hear that, I was also thinking of increasing the time.

Do you know what they meant? OPFOR doesn't have a "VIP" marker, - they get a marker on every blufor vehicle. So blufor can trick them if they split up, forcing them to split up as well.

i thought opfor was supposed to have a seperate VIP map marker:

Assassins receives intel of VIP / Bodyguard vehicles every 15 seconds.

Thanks a lot for this amazing mission,

Just a little bug or a omission, i think. VIP can take grenades in cars at spawn.

Multiple spawn would be funny for the assassin's gameplay, you could use all the maps. :D

good continoation!

Everything I know is that the animation of heal bug. When you are VIP and try to heal yourself, you can't moving anymore. You must "remove action" in the scroll menu.

Sounds weird! It also sounds like BIS bug, I haven't done any custom healing scripts :)

We have just played another round with a full server. It was super fun as organized opfor team, big thanks for the updated mission.

I'd have two suggestions:

1. When the VIP leaves the vehicle, Opfor gets a VIP marker on the map. Should prevent VIPs sneaking through forests.

It also become very difficult to organize some kind ambush as opfor, if blufor splits in like 3+ vehicle groups.

2. Turn off friendly damage for Blufor. After an hour some moron blufor tked the VIP and the mission ended.

:)

Thanks for this mission Cuel. We've been having a blast with it on our server. Here is a playthrough from last night. It's very unedited, and I apologize but I forgot to rebind my PTT key in my recording software so can't hear me talking. In the first few minutes we were Opfor and won very quickly. The second half I played as the VIP and we eventually won, but had several close calls where they targeted the wrong truck.

Thanks for your work on this! It's very good fun (with teams that have a clue) and is reminiscent of VIP mode in America's Army and even the original Counter Strike! Probably one of my all time favorite TvT modes.

A couple of suggestions I could throw out there... not sure how well they will work but...

1) Increase the capture time needed for the VIP a good deal. Decrease (or make the timer count faster?) based on how many BluFor are within the area. If the VIP has the full support of his team the capture time could be relatively quick, like it is now. If they are all scattered over the map (or the VIP is lone-wolfing it) it takes much longer. This helps balance the ruse of splitting up the BluFor convoys into multiple groups by making it more difficult to capture... might increase the chances of some good gun battles too.

2) I would like to see anything possible be done to make this mission (and other TvT missions as well) easier for the new player to participate in, especially on public servers. One of the big things that stands out is no one is sure where the VIP wants to go. It would be nice if the destination selection could be "hinted" for the VIP or somehow made easier and then the rest of the BluFor get a confirmation message that is hard to miss... For example: IF the VIP hesitates to select the next destination (set current task), give the VIP a black screen with the message "Select the next destination to visit to continue..." etc. and once this has been done flash a clear message on the other BluFor screens like "Your task: Escort the VIP to (next destination) and protect him at all costs!"

3) On tasks like "show face to public" perhaps make the objective more interactive... like the VIP can decrease the completion time by actually interacting with the public. Same with for example Camp Rogain. Have the VIP move through a few checkpoints to simulate them actually "inspecting" something. This also prevents the VIP from just hunkering down in a corner somewhere and waiting for the timer to count out... although that could (should?) still be possible. Just make the capture *easier* (shorter time), if the VIP is actually moving around doing something. As a bonus this is also extra incentive for the security force to really think about where they need to fortify and keep overwatch and might encourage suggestion #1 to be done more too.

4) Visit the General (inspired me to write suggestion #3!). Is it possible to accidentally run over the general? Or shoot him?

Is there a way to automatically put all of Blufor on sidechat so they can communicate? Again, another one to make it easier to get into the game for the noobs.

I too am curious how the game would play out if there were a VIP marker on the map *when the VIP leaves a vehicle*, for the reasons already mentioned.

Great mission! Keep up the good work!

I'd also like to see some sort of randomization of tasks, to increase replay value (a list of 20, randomly pick five, etc.) for the blufor.

Opfor might get intelligence of at least some of this task list upon completing something... even visiting a location the VIP has already visited or is going to eventually visit.

This mode should get more development and server time! It's a great idea that really adds a new game type to ARMA 3.
