Multiplayer frames/ps Drop? No SLI Optimization?

Recommended Posts

I am trying figure out why when i play multiplayer my frames drop off so much. When I play the showcases,

the game runs between 30-60 consistently on the lowest possible settings. When I jump into multiplayer on the same settings,

I am lucky if I even get about 15-20.

Also Is there no optimization for SLI? I have 2x GTX 460 1GB Fermi's in SLI configuration and I messed with the

Nvidia control panel for the SLI in game. There is no performance difference between using a single GPU and SLI being enabled.

I heard my cards together are equivalent to about 10% better performance than a 480. Should I be getting better performance on my current settings?

It depends on the servers hardware and the mission its running, most missions running right now really just aren't optimized at all, especially the COOP missions.

So server hardware affects client FPS?

Is it a way to avoid visible lag by reducing engine tick rate?

Lowest settings, no difference between Sli and one card, seeing the clue here?

You gfx cards are doing nothing, I get both my 3GB 580s up 99% GPU load no problem, in fact I have to screw some settings back to increase game stability but they are still both working reasonably hard.

Try turning up AA for a start and render to over 100%. Max all the things then work backwards till you get your fps trade off that you are happy with.

Multi-player is a different beast right now and some server side settings or hardware may be the cause at the moment.

Just be happy with your SP settings as you wont gain much in Multi-player with tinkering, just a couple of FPS here and there.

this problem is not to do with the GPU, the frame rate is directly reliant on your CPU speed, (8 cores is pointless btw as arma doesn't support multithreading very well) and how many frames the server is running at, as there isn't even a proper server program at the moment its understandable that the servers are struggling. best thing you can do is increase your CPU GHz.
