Apart from that - maybe the guns allready ingame arent meant to be able to be zeroed.

At least the HMG jeeps got this feature - so its allready in the game at least.

When you select an optic that doesn't zero, like an ACOG, you can't adjust your zero but the range is still displayed in the upper-right corner. That may be the issue.

If you're like me and were trying to use the ACO (collimator) then it seems fixed to 200 meters, whereas the side-mounted red dot sight for the MX 3GL 6.5mm can be zeroed down to 100 meters.

Are you trying to "zero" a holo/red dot sight, magnified optic, or iron sight?

In RL, a holo/RDS is "zeroed" to a specific range at a range, they are not easily elevation/windage adjustable on the fly, like a magnified optic or irons

i would assume the same is true in game.....????

red dot sight used for grenade launcher would be the exception...

edit- it would be cool to have to actually go to the range to zero your weapons correctly ......

Go to the range? Isn't zeroing done through the ironsight adjusment? Like G3A3 that I used when I was in the Army had a diopter that allowed combat between 100m and 400m (with 100m increments). And that's a damn old (battle) rifle.

I mean in the true sense of the word, as in battlesight zero, like when you were first issued the weapon. Like an M4 for example, first mechanical zero your irons, BZO @ 36 yds, fine tune @ 300 yds. THEN you can play with your elevation.

its a realisim overkill suggestion, I was kinda kidding, but you are customizing your weapon in game, with different suppressors, optics, sub/super rounds, in RL its not as easy as just slapping them on and hit the road....

You zero all you sights even the iron one.

When using red point or generally sights without zoom or very small zoom they are zeroed on 250-300 meters. These sights are not supposed to be changed in combat but if you really need to it would take like 10 sek.

Now we have optic sights with 4x zoom and more. Im not sure but i think you zero them on the same distance but instead you have a HUD inside the sighs that show how to aim at different ranges. On older sights i think you have to change the settings on the sight if you want to shoot on longer ranges.

I agree. You should only be able to install attachments at a bench. A 3D interface for it would also be great, so you could actually see the weapon, rotate & zoom, etc.
