Like masharra said, take it slow and play tactically.

Also there are lot of buttons to remember, it might seem a lot in the beginning but soon you will get used to it.

You pros have any tip how to fly the helicopter,my biggest problem is always when I need to aim I must tilt it down and it go to fast to hit anything.

And sniping is at new lvl in this game to,so any input how to kill at long range would be cool :)

I think you could go a little lower instead, rather than tipping it.

I never was any good at firing guns in vehicles in arma 2, but i think thats something you can try. :P

Hi EmirSc

Welcome to the series, read this and it should help you get a better idea of how to approach things:

Hints and Tips

http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/ArmA_II_Hints_and_Tips

Dslyecxi's ArmA2 Tactics, Techniques, & Procedures Guide

http://ttp2.dslyecxi.com/

Alot of these things already apply to Arma2, but the concepts, tactics, are the same, apply them to the situation you may be in.

the biggest thing is to get your controls comfortable so they dont impede your ability to make a move and take action, so if thats out of the way, then

concentrate on observing the situation before you go into it. Your actions are determined by what the enemy will do and your objectives are for the given

situation, be it defend or attack, all depends.

I've had some problems getting into multiplayer as a noob. I've dabbled a bit in ARMA single player in the past and the editor is a stroke of genius but I really wanted to start playing mp with ARMA 3.

Unfortunately my experience has not been good so far. I tried a co-op mission which spawned me miles from my squad with the squad leader constantly nagging me to return to formation as I tried to get to him as fast as I could. Got bored after a few minutes of that trying to catch up to the squad.

Then I tried a wasteland server which helpfully had dots over friendly targets. I saw one guy without a dot so I shot him... then the game told me to apologise for a teamkill. I left that server before getting hated on by everyone for TK.

I'm trying not to let bad experiences put me off but it does seem quite daunting. I wonder if some friendly people could point me in the right direction.

Bane2087 how long did you played? it take some time(im n00b too), dont let the a few moments in to the game let you down.

Try to work things out in your head before taking any action and PID (positively identify) your target. ArmA is a simulator which means you're encouraged to think and act as you would if this was a real situation. Depending on the settings of the server you may or may not get indicators discriminating friend from foe. Someone shooting at you may seem like a clear indication but then again it may be someone being just as confused as you were. Stay out of sight, observe and identify your target then act.

My first few tries on Infantry Showcase were embarrassing. Then I loaded up the editor and plopped my self down on the empty airfield, spent an hour or so rebinding and getting the hang of the controls. After that the Infantry Showcase went pretty well (apart from the first attempt where I was shot by guys through dense foliage).

Basically just go in to the editor's "preview" mode and run around until you feel comfortable. It's a lot easier to get the hang of the controls when you're not being shot at.
