b00tsy 28 Posted March 5, 2013 Dito, I press play (on steam) get the startup thingy and then a blackscreen and a crash to desktop. It's a Nvidia driver timeout ID: 4101 It doesnt help that the first run starts with max settings automatically and full screen. Tried to change startup settings, messed with Nvidia control panel, edited the settings file 'my documents'(copy/pasted settings from arma-oa), but still no go. I'm updating the drivers now see if that helps. I could barely run arma 2 so was already afraid this would happen.
nailz 10 Posted March 5, 2013 i unistalled direct x,as much as possible, and installed the version in the gamefolder... still no go
BL1P 35 Posted March 5, 2013 As per My sig you can see my specs and its not just a Nvidia driver related problem as I am not using a Nvidia card. but I also tried the DirectX setup from the game folder to no avail. I also doubled check that no other progs are running from startup the only one was ZoneAlarm. I shut that down and tried to launch but still no luck.

scaramoosh 10 Posted March 5, 2013 I have a feeling it's a server side issue as it was working perfectly fine for me for the first couple hours and now it is doing it for me randomly now.
b00tsy 28 Posted March 5, 2013 Who was the guy btw that said 'if you can run arma 2 you will also be able to run arma 3'. I like to shoot him :) Anyway, I have given up after 4 hours of trying. Hope there will be a patch for it in the upcoming week(s). p.s. Steam does not have the launch option on arma3 where you can select windowed mode before running it. I added '-windowed=1' in the startup, but it still starts fullscreen (till it crashes).
tonygrunt 10 Posted March 5, 2013 Had the same problem right after install, ArmA 3 would crash. Did a "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" through steam and it works now.
b00tsy 28 Posted March 5, 2013 I got it running now woot! Found a bug report where the dev/admin mentioned to add -nobenchmark in the startup line and that fixed it for me.
BL1P 35 Posted March 5, 2013 Fixed :- It was ZoneAlarm even though I thought it was off it wasnt. Added the Arma3 exe into the allowed progs and works now. Seems it is that little window that pops up saying "Arma3 wants to access the internet do you want to allow" was the culprit.
nailz 10 Posted March 5, 2013 still not working; tried everything, a complete reinstall of steam, manually installing the directx that is in install folder, turning odd DEP, turning off steam overlay adding to ZA, suspending AVG, turning off all programs not needed (itunes helper, gametracker lite etc) numerous restarts. Psycho78 10 Posted March 5, 2013 -nobenchmark -winxp fixed the problem for me. Win7 32-bit, nVidia video card.
bravo17 1 Posted March 6, 2013 (edited) Same issue here. Issue seems to be caused by Zonealarm for me also. I have managed to get it to work by un-installing the ZA Toolbar, then setting the "ZoneAlarm LTD Toolbar IswSvc" service to manual. Then after a reboot and exiting ZA from the right-click popup Arma 3 will finally start. ZA can then be restarted or the computer rebooted to restart it - this saves having to remove ZA altogether. BL1P 35 Posted March 6, 2013 Did u update drivers? a friend was havin crashes an updating his drivers solved crashing for him anyways. Thanks for the reply Call_991 but reading some more you will see that it was a problem with ZoneAlarm. For me adding the Arma3 prog into the ZoneAlarm allowed progs and letting outgoing trafic through fixed it for me.
